Hello everyone!

It is truly a Happy Monday for me today!

When I start a challenge I always try to hop in with you to make some efforts as well. This weekend I was able to do so and am really excited about what I was able to accomplish.

Like many of you my needlework bucket list is way too long for me to list on one post. You’d probably leave after reading the third paragraph of all my desires lol. 😂

I decided to just share as I go and try to tackle them as I can.

I must tell you that I may not finish this goal before the deadline due to a good friend of mine is having a baby girl and she’s due this April. She’s already made some requests of things she wants crocheted so I’ve got to get started on that work soon.

I have always wanted to crochet myself some clothing. I want to have that full experience of someone asking

Hey that’s so cute! Where did you get that?

Then I’d say

Oh this? I made it! 😆😁

I think it is so amazing that we as crafters have that ability to create what we like and wear it proudly with joy and confidence.

I’ve been wanting to make myself a sweater for the longest. I found this beautiful pullover pattern that uses the top down method (meaning you’ll be crocheting from the top of the sweater on down to the bottom).

She does an amazing job making it plain and simple for beginner yoke makers like myself.

I will say this isn’t my first project using the top down method though. It’s just the first one I’ve made on an adult scale. I admit I like making infant and children’s clothing better because they don’t take as long and the feeling of achievement comes much quicker. 😅

If you’ve been around long enough you probably remember the cardigan I made for my daughter when she was younger. It was a pattern shared with me by @neumannsalva!

I had a lot of fun making it so I wanted to find a sweater I could do for myself using this same method.

I actually started on the turtleneck part a month ago and wanted to get going on it again to share with you for this bucket list challenge.

One thing I love about this pattern is the fact that you can try it on as you go. After stitching up the neck part I tried it on and knew I already loved it.

Here’s a photo showing the whip stitch process of the turtleneck…

Whip stitching reminds me of a zipper function. The process is relaxing and fun to watch as it closes up the stitches along the way.

I plan on making this a multicolor sweater by adding in three more different ones. I’ll reveal what those colors are once I figure them out in the next update.

Once my progress was placed on the dress form mannequin I began playing around with different style looks for the turtleneck. I’ll leave you with those until next time.

This last one just shows the full length of it. I love that I’ll be able to wear it a variety of ways.

I am really motivated to complete this project and having a sweater made by my own hands. I don’t plan on making full size clothing to sell or give away as this is only for fun in my spare time.

If it turns out great I’m sure I’ll be making myself more. Also, if my eldest daughter wants one of course I’ll make an exception for her. When she saw what I was doing she seemed pretty impressed so we’ll see.

I’ve been enjoying all of the bucket list entries that have been coming in. There’s still time to get on board and get yours in as well! Please remember to at least do one of the following when entering the challenge:

- Use the #needleworkyourbucketlist tag.
- Add your link to the announcement post.
- Put the word bucket list somewhere in your title so we won’t miss your entry.

If we don’t know or can’t figure out that you are entering the challenge you could miss out on a nice post $tip for your efforts!

All photos are my own and were taken with our Cannon EOS Rebel T6.

Thanks for the Visit ~ ❤️

Thanks so much! I hope to be able to finish it while it's still in the winter season here. If not, I'll put it away until next winter. 😊

I really love the different ways you can wear a turtle-neck collar (we call them roll-necks). I started a pullover erm months ago, I only got as far as the collar before being distracted. I think now, I should have finished the collar and worn it just like that 😂.

Lovely colour, too, can't wait to see what you're adding.

I do too, they are so versatile. I like that name. 😃

Hahaha that’s always a plan. I may wear it as a collar if I don’t finish it this winter. 😅

I reeally love this red color, this kind of sweaters was my favorite for the winter time when I went in Lima, I think the turtleneck style is so elegant and confortable.
Congratulation for this advance.

Very nice, friend @crosheille, for such a beautiful turtleneck, and encourage the Bucket List. I was anxious to see the end, what colors will you add. Well, it was a pleasure to comment. Happy start of the week.

Thanks @multifacetas! I'm glad you like the turtleneck. ☺️

Hopefully by the next update I'll have the colors planned out to share with you ~ 😉

Oh I love that style. The rolled neck/fisherman neck/polo neck (whatever) is exactly my style of cardigan. I love that colour you've chosen. My friend's mom just knitted me a gorgeous denim blue polo neck cardigan, but long, down to my knees. I adore it. Next I want a RED one

Thank you! It's cool to know you like this style too. Oh I'd love to see your denim polo!! 😍

Just a couple of years back I really started loving this color. I hope to be able to finish it soon.

This technique is very beautiful, here in the city where I live it's never hot and it wouldn't be necessary to crochet a turtleneck. But you have to admit that yours is looking very beautiful. I hope you manage to do all the #BucketList challenges. Thank you very much for sharing with us your beautiful craft. I wish you a beautiful start of the week ✨️

I think it's a great project, I also feel really happy when I walk with my girls and they look at their headbands, they tell me how cute they are, where I bought them and proudly say I made them for them.

So making that garment for yourself, even if it costs more work, will be very satisfying.

Making little things for babies is beautiful. I hope those orders turn out beautifully.

I haven't made my list yet. I also have several wishes to fulfill.

Yes, it's a great feeling to be complimented on the work we do with our hearts and hands. ☺️

Thanks for your comment. I apologize I’ve been a bit busy with things at home but I still plan on visiting your blog soon and leaving feedback for you ~ 😉

Oh this? I made it! 😆😁

This got me cracked up 😂 just like I responded to a lady who asked me about my small crotched market bag the other day ☺️. I understand this feeling 😅, it's usually unique 👌😂

Wow...I am loving your choice of color. Looking so sharp and I guess it gonna fit you just well. The turtleneck is already looking nice and I can imagine what the finishing will look like.

Weldon ma... You sure have a lot to do with your fingers this period considering the order from your good friend who is almost due. I am wishing her a safe delivery in advance 🤗🤗🎊🎉🥳

Isn't it a good feeling?! 😄

Thanks so much! I really want to get it finished soon but my time is a little short these days with other projects and things for school I have to commit to.

Thanks so much for the safe delivery wishes ~ 😘

Wow! This is so beautiful, I love the choice of colour, it makes your work so lovely, you are doing great works with your hands.

It sure feels great when someone ask you who made this and you tell them you made it yourself especially when the outfit looks gorgeous on you.

Nice work @crosheille, waiting to see the finished project which I believe will come out nice.

Then I’d say

Oh my! I never thought to read these lines, that are exactly what I'm wishing for myself. For more than a decade, I never had a chance to crochet myself to wear. I mean I tried, but someone had bought it and I told myself,

I'll just make another one like that, prettier. Haha

But up until now, I never had the chance. 😅

I admit I like making infant and children’s clothing better because they don’t take as long and the feeling of achievement comes much quicker. 😅

Yes, I agree. Especially for dolls. But even if it takes a short time, now I still don't have the time to crochet my new doll. 😂

If only I could make the time stop for a while. 🤭

Anyway, I'm excited about what other colors you will add. And it seems pretty even if it's unfinished. Have a nice day @crosheille.🥰

Oh wow that's so cool you feel the same way about wanting to hear those words. I really hope you get the time in to make yourself another crocheted garment.

Thanks so much for your nice comment. I hope to be able to share more progress with you soon ~ 😊

Thats so interesting that you start form the top, never heard of that!
I guess the best part about it is, that you could already wear it now as a neck/scarf/loop🙃
And it already looks really cozy😊
indeed this:

Hey that’s so cute! Where did you get that?
Then I’d say
Oh this? I made it!

...is such an awesome relation to have towards the clothes you wear!!
Well the best wishes to complete your goal❤️ Looking forward to it!

Yes I really love the top down method and being able to try it on as you go. It saves a lot of time because you can make adjustments as you need instead of waiting until the end or having to frog it.

Lol I may just have to wear it as a collar if I don’t get it completed this winter season.

Thanks so much for your comment ~ ☺️

aah I haven't thought of that, now it makes even more sense😅

At least you know for sure you will wear it already, only the form stays open😊

I was looking at sweaters today, this looks like a great pattern, though I want to knit something (haven't mastered crochet).

I'm yet to figure out what a yoke is...

The weather is really cold over here. This weather will be perfect for the weather. Unfortunately I cannot crotchet on things. When I was young I use to use the two long spokes or what is it called to crotchet. But as I grew older, I dumped those projects and now I cannot even remember how I use to do them.

Hopefully, when I am old and retired, I may just use it as a way of relaxation.😀

Hi Joy! I've missed you. I haven't been as active here lately but I need to come and catch up. Thanks for commenting on my post.

It sounds like you used to knit (with those long knitting needles). You don't have to wait until you're old to get started again!! 😄😉

It’s truly a stress reliever ~
