Valentine’s Treat Bags
💕𝐻𝒜𝒫𝒫𝒴 𝒱𝒜𝐿𝐸𝒩𝒯𝐼𝒩𝐸’𝒮 𝒟𝒜𝒴!💕
It has been a very busy weekend and I am totally exhausted.
This was the first year we had so many Valentine’s to write out due to being in a homeschool co-op. It was a lot of fun but oh so tiring. 😄
My kiddos really enjoyed making Valentine’s cards for their friends, teachers and a few of our neighbors. By the time we were done everyone was ready for a nap.
Well, you know how I can be overly ambitious…I was determined to finish my crochet project no matter how drained I was. I didn’t make time for much resting or any naps I stayed focused and completed my mission. 😃
I decided to make crocheted Valentine’s treat bags for my three year old daughter’s teachers. They are amazing and take such good care of my baby girl. They always make sure she’s comfortable and get what she needs throughout the day.
Simply put, they spoil her and she knows it and eats it up. 😆
Not only that but she has put them through the test challenging them several times (seeing how far she can go misbehaving) and each time they have handled it well. I’ve had to show up at her class a couple of times in the beginning but now she has settled in and follows instructions from her teachers much better.
I wish I could have crocheted all of the teachers a treat bag but I just don’t have the time and enough energy for it. My older kiddos each gave their teachers a box of chocolates along with some other fun things like hand mirrors and hand lotions (these along with candy and soap are what’s inside these crochet bags). I’m glad that each teacher will receive a Valentine from our family.
I was glad to find this easy pattern that whips up pretty quickly. I skipped the intarsia crochet of the heart and instead decided to make hearts that hang from the bags. I haven’t done too many projects with that technique didn’t have the extra time to try to accomplish it.
Let’s dive in to the details…
This is the what the bag looks like after finishing all of the stitches. It would be easy adding in more fancier stitches as you go. This is a very easy project to customize to your liking.
After all of your ends are tied in you simply fold the piece in half, line up the edges and sew both sides together.
You can adjust your hook size and yarn to play around with the sizing. You could make this into a cute little tool bag you stick in your purse.
Here’s a shot of the finished bag…
I decided to tie the ribbon on the side of the bag and let the crocheted heart hang in the front. I liked the contrast of the two but didn’t want them right next to each other.
As you noticed in the cover photos each of the bags were different sizes. As I moved along I noticed I started crocheting more loosely which caused the next bag in line to always come out a little bigger. It didn’t bother me none, I sure wasn’t going to start anything over. 😁
Next are some closeups of the bag details…
The hearts I made are a two minute pattern but it took me much longer due to shaping them. I wanted them to be as neat as possible since they are in the spotlight. 🤩
I’m happy with how the bag closed with the ribbon and I like how it looks at the top with everything sealed.
How about a another group shot? Here ya go 😉…
I wanted you to get the side view of the ribbons this time.
Aww look at how they support each other and hold one another up. Reminds me of all of you wonderful folks here on Hive. ☺️🤗
Finally one last shot showing you that we are ready for this day of fun, sharing, giving and treats. 😋
That’s all folks! Thank you for tuning in and checking out my crochet bags and hearts today. I hope you enjoyed ~
Have a Wonderful Valentine’s Day! 💝
𝐿𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝒜𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈,
Lovely I wished I could take one for a Valentine's gift
Thanks @emeka4! ☺️
These are cute and quick!
Those two things are a recipe for a favorite project! 😄
Thanks for reading ~ 💕
Wow. Happy Valentine's day and those look super awesome. Voted on behalf of the Neoxian city paper.
Thank you so much to the support @sayee! So glad you liked them. 😊

Wow @crosheille this is so beautiful well organized and your pictures are just perfect, I wonder what kind of camera you do use in snapping that makes it so clear and attractive
Thats very kind of you to say @smilestitches! I always try to present my photos in a way that is bright, clear and attractive.
I actually use an entry level Cannon (EOS Rebel T6). I've had a lot of practice in the last five years and believe the editing apps/tools I use are a big part of them turning out this way. The more you edit the better your photos will turn out as you get more comfortable with what you're doing. 😉
Thanks for the visit and comment ~
You're welcome @crosheille
You use an entry level Cannon (EOS Rebel T6) and you’ve had editing practice in the last five years wow! Omg you’re just perfect at what you do, and there’s a saying that in every Successful person, there’s something he/she is doing that another person hasn’t done yet or don’t even know.
😂 😂 me that am using an iPhone I don’t even have those kind of clear pictures 😂 😂 while the main reason I bought an iPhone was mainly for the camera. well..... I don’t know your kind of camera but you’re just good at what you do, keep up and happy valentines week. By the way how was your valentines celebration? 😂 me I was just home although 😂
Yep! When I joined this platform I knew I wanted to present amazing photos so I started practicing my shooting and became familiar with editing techniques that helped. Hive is what motivated me!
Thanks a lot I really appreciate that.
Have you looked into those iPhone clip on lenses? You can literally turn your phone into a professional camera for way cheaper. You can search cell phone camera lens kit or iPhone lenses. This way your photos could come out more clear. Although I do suggest you download some editing apps and get familiar with them if you haven’t yet. You can sharpen and brighten your images that way ;)
I had a fun celebration as well as my kids. Hey that’s okay, I tend to choose staying home more than anything else these days. My husband and I don’t celebrate it, we only do things for the kids now. We show our love throughout the year anyway and feel it’s not worth spending hundreds of dollars for this one day.
😂 😂 😂 at least you had fun with your kids, I know your husband was welling to take you out for some treat or date and I guess you just felt they wasn’t any need and you Successfully made him change his mind 😂
Okay for the editing app can you, suggest some for me? That will really be nice
Sure! In this post at the end I list my favorite editing tools that you can download… https://peakd.com/hive-174578/@crosheille/how-my-posts-are-born
;)
Alright, I know the first one but didn't really trust it 😂 I'll now try it out
👍🏽
What a sweet idea! Very cute.
Thanks @barracudadiaries! 😃
Ughhhh mama these are soooo stinkin' cuteeee!!! 😍😍😍 The teachers are so lucky I am jealous! 😂 So lovely of you and your family to send love and appreciation this way, I'm sure they are gonna love it 💕
Thank you mama!
Hahaha you’re so funny. We were able to give one of the teachers their bag as the other two were not able to be there. She really loved and appreciated the handmade gesture and was amazed I took the time to make it. It always feels great when someone appreciates the love and time we put into our creations. Yay! ☺️💕
Haha, you bet! They really look nice ❤️
I'm sure their teachers loved these cute valentine's gift 😍.
Thank you!
Yes, the gift was received with love and appreciation. ☺️
Thanks for the visit and comment ~
Very thoughtful gifts! I am sure the teachers loved them!
I remember making Valentine's cards with my two kiddos for the classes. It was hard and time consuming and I am not sure we did that again! :-)
Thank you very much! The bags were definitely loved and admired. 😊
I can definitely relate to that. It is very tiring and time consuming to make your own cards and gifts. We decided this year to buy the cards instead of making them since we had soooo many friends to give them to.
At first I was going to make a total of eight bags but ran out of time (and energy 😅). I always say I’m going to plan and make ahead of time but that never happens lol. 🤷🏽♀️
Thanks so much for reading and commenting ~
Happy Valentine's Day! I can relate with the homeschooling. We really have to give our time to it. Those Valentines treat are really cute and lovely. Sure the teachers will appreciate it. Thanks for sharing.
Hi @dizzyapple! Thanks for checking out the bags.
It was fun taking the time out to make these. It’s especially worth the time when you know the receiver will appreciate the gesture ~
I fell in love with these treat bags, they are so cute. I think if I ever going to learn crocheting this will be the first one that I want to create. Good evening.
I'm glad you liked them! Thanks so much for stopping by to comment ~ 😊
You're welcome. It is always a pleasure to look at your works.
SO cute and easy to make
My two favorite things. 😉
Thanks so much for stopping by ~
Wow! my dear! very cute and very nice!!! but the main thing is that it is so easy to do. you always have amazing ideas! I really like this!!!
Thank you Tali! Yes, cute and easy are the best combination in my opinion. Those are the projects I tend to gravitate to these days with limited time and energy. I'm glad you liked them.
Thanks for reading ~
What a beautiful detail!!!
Happy Valentines Day!!! 💖
Thanks @adonisr! I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day ~ 😊
Looks spectacular, ideal for Valentine's Day.
Thanks so much! They were so quick and fun to make ~
Festivals are a lovely way to enjoy a community. These treat bags are lovely!
I think I could make them at Christmas, too, to go on the tree. They would be lovely little gifts for visitors and guests. So pleased you are all enjoying the co-op so much.
That's a great idea! The fun part would be to play around with the sizing. I think your guests would be excited to receive one. So glad you like them.
Yes, it has been great for the kids and I am enjoying making new friends as well.
Thanks so much for coming by and commenting ~ ❤️
I imagine it to be such a relief to have good teachers who care and are able to support your daughter. I think especially at a young age this is super important (here in Germany the teacher for Kindergarten are paid the least and have the shortest education which is not good in my eyes). And showing appreciation with a handmade gift is wonderful. I love your crochet bags and I love that you gifted something handmade and did not follow the trend of shopping which is prevalent here.(I baked something special... perhaps because I wanted to eat the dough... shame on me :-DDDD)
It is quite the relief. I know I am always leaving her in good and caring hands.
Thank you! If I have the time I will always choose handmade over store bought gifts…they just speak louder every time.
Haha, well I hope you enjoyed that dough ~ 😋😆
These are adorable.
What a beautiful and perfect gift.
Thank you @joalvarez! I'm so glad they turned out the way I imagined they would.
I appreciate the visit and comment ~ ☺️
Such lovely gift bags! I might start making some just to have around when needing a gift.
I miss my homeschooling days - but not the constant work and the tiredness that came along with it...
That’s a good idea! These would be nice to have on hand for any occasion. I might do the same in my free time. 😉
I do understand that. It is constant and I am ALWAYS tired it seems. So much to do in very little time and I get wore out trying to keep up with it all. Although there are many fun times that come along with it, it is hard work. It does help that I have three older kiddos who can do a lot on their own now. They even help me with my two youngest now.
Thanks so much for stopping in ~
Since you are the founder of this group, I want to run something by you. I am thinking of starting a group on Ravelry for Hive Needle workers. Are you okay with that or would you rather start one?
Shanibeer and I were thinking of doing a Kal here on Hive and it might be useful to advertise it on Ravelry as well...
Let me know what you think please.
Thanks so much for running this by me.
By all means feel free to start it. I have enough on my plate with Hive background work that I don’t plan on starting anything else, especially outside of Hive.
I know that Shanibeer has been trying to encourage this to take place so this could help with getting people more interested.
Will you be leading the Kal?
hopefully her and I together :)
Nice ;)
One more question. Can I use the logo of this group as the badge on Ravelry or should I make up my own?
The name NeedleWorkMonday and logo was created specifically for in-house use only on Hive. We’d rather keep it that way as it was built up on Hive for the community that has grown here.
It would be best if you create your own specific name and logo for your Ravelry needlework group please.
Thank you ~
okay. Thank you.
I changed the name and am creating a new logo. I guess I wasn't really clear when I first asked you I was more thinking of creating a group to support this community here. Just a place where running a kal is a bit easier and such.
But all is well and I am still going to direct people to join the community here on Hive - if any join the group on Ravelry that is :)
Okay thank you.
Oh I see. I think I misread your idea. I was thinking you were creating a needlework group there and were going to invite the members from this community to join. It makes sense to run the KAL where it would be the easiest for you. Thanks for explaining it further. So sorry about my misunderstanding ~
I appreciate that you will direct them to the community here. Thank you! 😊
It looks beautifull
Thank you!
Too beautiful, good job they turned out very beautiful.
I want one 👀
Thanks @bleuclair! It makes me happy that so many enjoyed this project. 😃
You ooze of kindness and I am sure they would appreciate this. I love how you played with the colours by selecting 3 different kinds and they are adorably cute too. Attention to details and I can see the creativity behind this as well. It's impressive and this is a good one. Well done 🤗
Thanks so much! ☺️
It’s nice when others can see and appreciate the details of handiwork.
Thanks for the visit and nice comment ~
They are beautiful ❤️.
These are absolutely beautiful. Wow. They can't be more cuter than this because these are absolutely cute. I love handworks... It's something I can't do but I admire those who do it. It requires patience and creativity.
Thank you @olawalium! Much appreciated ~ ☺️
Anytime 🤗😍❣️❤️

😍The bags are so cute and I like the colours you picked for them. It’s really eye-catching. I think I’ll try making them and putting in gifts for friends. It’ll be fun. And, if I take pictures of them, I hope they turn out as bright and clear as yours.
Thank you!!! I think you’ll enjoy making these as gift bags for your friends. 😉
I’m sure your photos will look great, you take really nice photos of your work!
Have Fun ~
Hey there. Wow, this post made 154 Hive? Good job!
I stopped by here because I was reading a different post, and ecency showed me this one.
I saw the little bags and your name and knew I was in for a treat.
Those little hearts really are the focal point of the bag! Wow on you, not only did you finish the bags even though you were tired, but you still stopped to take pictures to makes sure you could blog about them later.
No wonder you're bringing in the big bucks ;)
Hey Metz!! Thank You! ☺️
I’m glad you liked them. I am really happy I added the hearts because I feel they were the focal point too.
Lol I did. One thing about loving photography and Hive is that it’s sooooo hard to resist a good opportunity to set up a post for later. I could be dead dog tired and get an idea for a photoshoot and I’ll push to get it done right in that very moment. One of the reasons is because I use natural light and have limited time to get the best shots.
Hahaha I am so grateful for the support I get here and the ability to earn rewards for my efforts. Thanks so much for leaving me this thoughtful and supportive comment. 💓
