Flipadelphia Day 1: Clean Your Room

Following the advice of Canada's answer to Kermit the Frog, it's important to "Clean Your Room" and there's no better way to get running with this than to fix the deck by getting some of these Chaos Legion regular foil single common and rare cards sold. This process is going to take a few days because some cards are not at a good price to sell, but they could be in the near-future. The collection is a bit of a mess and organizing/consolidating it into more attractive selling pieces would go a long way toward setting up future progress.

What's Out?

Start with a Level 1 Regular Foil Angelic Mandarin

image.png

This card sold for $.214 rather quickly and it was not the lowest priced card on the market. Setting or matching the price floor is just not a good idea because there are accounts that are very aggressive in setting the floors. These seller accounts can be manipulated into giving away some cards at much cheaper prices, but it is a bit of a game of chicken where the hope is that these accounts undercut the price set so that the card being used to set up the reactionary move is not sold.

image.png

In the past 5 months, the price of the Angelic Mandarin really has not budged much beyond the 20-22 cent range. There have been dips, but selling at 21.4 cents is a fair price for both sides that will result in a quick sale.

Level 1 Regular Foil Deeplurker

image.png

Deeplurker is an extremely popular card at all levels of Splinterlands. The card was nerfed a bit with the Fog of War rule adjustment, but it is still a card with a great deal of value. Prices were rising for Deeplurker and reaching the daily low price resistance. It was sold off for $.267.

Level 1 Regular Foil Goblin Psychic

Selling the Regular Foil Goblin Psychic was a must and it is a card that has a lot of variability in price. I knew I had to look at the price history to get a sense of whether I should sit on the card or let the card go. Prices were rising and it was tough to make the case that Goblin Psychic would have a run-up like it did 3 months ago. $.18 sounded like a solid price and the card was eventually united with a new owner.

The Market Selling for Day One

image.png

There's a purchase in there as well, that's for the next section.

One card from Day One sales is still left to be sold, which happens to be a Level 3 Gold Foil Sunkai Harvester that has been rising in price lately and the price set is good enough to get caught in a wave sale.

What's In?

image.png

A Level 2 Gold Foil Exploding Rats was purchased with the proceeds of sold cards last night. This card was at a low point for the given period and 1 cent off the bid price. Gold Foil Exploding Rats also had the highest immediate upside in the event of a wave sale. The comparables are quite good given rarity, abilities, and a possible new meta surrounding the new "Knocking On Heaven's Door" ruleset that can make it extremely useful in Gold League and above due to the Redemption ability.

So this is Day One, look forward to what is to come with Day Two. There's more Room to Clean and Rewards cards were not sold yet because the cards may still be technically in-print due to unopened loot chests. Figuring out how the market will react to these cards being out-of-print will dictate future moves with these cards.

How are level 1 card prices holding up since the new soul bound rules?

Most Chaos Legion Regular Foil Commons, Rares, and Epics are up from 3 days ago. The majority of the Legendaries are down, but it is a modest majority.

With Chaos Legion Gold Foils: Commons are mixed bag, Rares are mostly down, Epics are almost all down, Legendaries are mostly down.

We need edition and version indexes to gauge sentiment.

I am interested to see as rentals have collapsed and if card prices would follow or not.

I think rentals prices collapsing is a good indicator we may have finally sunk a few bot farms with soulbound rewards.

More unloading to come, but I'm right now perplexed by the pump.

My guess is people/bots are leveling up to take advantage of the better drop rates for the new reward cards.
