My Collection of old banknotes [Mi Colección de billetes antiguos]

Hello friends. Recently, my collection of coins was joined by one of old Cuban bills thanks to an acquaintance who gave them as a gift and I would like to share with you images of them and a brief review of the history of paper money in my country, Cuba. In 1902, when the island of Cuba was just beginning the neocolonial period, this time under the North American regime, we still did not have our currency. Currencies of different nationalities circulated in the territory and the North American dollar was the predominant one. In 1934, the first banknotes of the Republic of Cuba were issued and they were called Silver Certificates, because they were backed by one-peso silver discs. When the National Bank of Cuba was created in 1948, the issuance of banknotes with gold backing began and the Silver Certificates were demonetized. The denominations of these bills were the following: 1 peso (José Martín), 5 pesos (Máximo Gómez), 10 pesos (Carlos Manuel de Céspedes), 20 pesos (Antonio Maceo), 50 pesos (Calixto García), 100 pesos (Francisco Vicente Aguilera), 500 pesos (Salvador Cisneros Betancourt), 1,000 pesos (Tomás Estrada Palma) and 10,000 pesos (Ignacio Agramonte). All of these are important figures who fought in the Bambi army against Spanish colonialism. At the moment I only have the denominations of 10 (1958 series), 20 (1958 series), 50 (1958 series) and 100 (1950 series) pesos. These banknotes gradually stopped being used after the Revolutionary Triumph of 1959.

Hola amigos.

Bad news: Saying see you later to Hive! 👋

We didn't get the needed support to continue cXc.world on Hive, as our DHF proposal lacked votes, but [Good News Everyone] cXc.world will add a Markdown copy button, allowing you to easily share your music + music you find on Hive.

For now, we're on WAX, with tools you can use to mint your own Music/Media NFT collection.
