Escape the pumpkin house.Explaining my drawing.

We all live in our own pumpkin world. What we call life is in fact our own perception on how we should spend the limited time that we have on Earth.

In this drawing I wanted to use the pumpkin and the elephant as metaphors for the obsolete ways in which we decide to tackle life.

Escape the pumpkin house. Watercolour and isograph work

The elephant lives in a marvelous pumpkin. He has sweets and everything that he wants inside. It looks like this is it, he is livin' the life. But something deep inside troubles him. A yearning for something more. "Is there more to this world?". Here it is a depiction of the human nature: when we think that we will be happy in our pumpkin world everything changes because our soul will always want to grow and evolve. Life is not about the 9 to 5 or about comfort. Life is not about pretending to look cool on Instagram when your real life is a mess. If you know you're a mess, why do you continue to put on a show?

Here the dream appears. "Yes....there is more to this life. Just dare to dream". Our imagination is our strongest ally or enemy according to how we decide to channel it. Once the elephant starts to dream his trunk magically becomes so big that it acts like an escape from the pumpkin, making him go on top and realize that he has been living in a small world. The real world is so much bigger! Do you notice how small he was inside and how big he became once he was out of this old paradigm aka living in the pumpkin?

Now imagine how many of us live incapsulated in our own pumpkin of comfort. We surround ourselves with various sweets in order to fool ourselves that life is dandy. There will be people who will refuse to get out from "the pumpkin". They will viciously attack and bully those who dare to say that there is more to life than what they experience in the pumpkin house. In fact they are sad , small and lonely inside the comforting reality they are immersed in.

I feel like expressing life's challenges in a more childlike illustration style is something new that really pleases my soul. I will continue.

A short video with me trying to explain everything I have written down in here

There are so many things we see online and we think that’s their real life. A whole lot of people are suffering and smiling but they don’t get to show it
Well, it isn’t a bad thing but it won’t be nice to fake things

People fake a lot of things just to escape the task of having to make drastic changes. I have watched how people drown in TikTok, in alcohol, in spending time without a purpose, becoming less of themselves. It is sad, you can't help someone who started to like the poison they drink everyday and call good life. They will drag you down and it is better to walk away.
