Estoy elaborando un proyecto para presentar en el concurso vigente de la comunidad de las agujas. Consiste en ir presentando los avances de aquellos proyectos que habíamos dejado abandonados por algún motivo. Yo retomé uno que tenía pendiente antes de que mi madre tuviera el accidente. El reto nos ofrece la oportunidad de ir presentando los avances mediante una publicación semanal. En vista de que ya me corresponde realizar la vestimenta de los amigurumis que estoy tejiendo, decidí mostrarles cómo realizar una capa para los superhéroes u otro personaje que lo requiera.

I am developing a project to present in the current contest of the community of the needles. It consists of presenting the progress of those projects that we had abandoned for some reason. I took up one that I had pending before my mother had the accident. The challenge offers us the opportunity to present the progress through a weekly publication. Since I have to make the costumes for the amigurumis I am knitting, I decided to show you how to make a cape for the superheroes or any other character that requires it.

Una capa es parte de la vestimenta de muchos superhéroes. Esta les permite volar, cubrir y/o proteger su cuerpo y también hacer algo de magia. Mi amigurumi necesita una capa muy bonita por lo que elegí este modelo que se hace rápido, fácil y luce bastante bien. Ahora te muestro los materiales y todo el proceso para hacerla. ¡Acompáñame!

A cape is part of the clothing of many superheroes. It allows them to fly, cover and/or protect their body and also do some magic. My amigurumi needs a very nice cape so I chose this pattern that is quick, easy and looks pretty cool. Now I show you the materials and the whole process to make it. join me!

Para hacer esta CAPA necesitamos: hilo pabilo rojo y negro, aguja de crochet de 2,25 mm, tijeras, cinta métrica y aguja lanera.

To make this CAPA we need: red and black thread, 2.25 mm crochet needle, scissors, measuring tape and wool needle.

Como mencioné antes, este modelo de capa se teje rápido y de manera sencilla. Lo primero que debemos tomar en cuenta es la medida que queremos lograr. Para ello iniciamos midiendo el cuerpo del amigurumi y definiendo la medida de la capa.

As I mentioned before, this cape pattern is quick and easy to knit. The first thing we must take into account is the size we want to achieve. To do this we start by measuring the amigurumi body and defining the size of the cape.

Después vamos a tejer el número de cadenas necesarios para obtener el largo de la capa. Para esta capa tejeré 26 cadenas.
Inmediatamente tejo 5 puntos medios altos.
Seguidamente tejo 3 puntos bajos.
Continúo tejiendo 5 puntos medios altos nuevamente y finalizo con 12 puntos altos.
Esta parte de la capa la tejeré en color rojo. Ver la secuencia de los puntos en la siguiente fotografía.

Then we are going to knit the number of chains necessary to obtain the length of the cape. For this cape I will knit 26 chains.
Immediately I knit 5 medium high stitches.
Next I knit 3 single crochet stitches.
I continue knitting 5 medium high stitches again and finish with 12 high stitches.
This part of the cape I will knit in red. See the sequence of the stitches in the following picture.

Para subir e iniciar la siguiente vuelta en el tejido, subo con 2 cadenas, levanto 12 puntos altos, 5 puntos medios altos, 3 puntos bajos y 5 medios puntos altos.

To go up and start the next round of knitting, I go up with 2 chains, pick up 12 double crochets, 5 half double crochets, 3 single crochets and 5 half double crochets.

La tercera vuelta la comienzo igual, levanto 2 cadenas, tejo 5 puntos medios altos, 3 puntos bajos, 5 medios puntos altos y 12 puntos altos.

I start the third row in the same way, pick up 2 chains, knit 5 medium high stitches, 3 low stitches, 5 medium high stitches and 12 high stitches.

Esta secuencia de vueltas hay que repetirla hasta obtener el ancho de la capa que necesitamos para el amigurumi. Si pueden notar la forma que va quedando en la capa. Parte de arriba que tapará su cuello, la otra será para la espalda alta y el resto la capa que cubrirá su cuerpo. Puedes hacerla más larga o más corta dependiendo de lo que corresponda para tu muñeco.

This sequence of laps must be repeated until we get the width of the layer we need for the amigurumi. If you can notice the shape that will be left on the cape. The top part will cover your neck, the other part will be for the upper back and the rest will be the cape that will cover your body. You can make it longer or shorter depending on what is appropriate for your doll.

Podemos tejer las capas que necesitemos, en color azul, rojo, negro o blanco siguiendo las mismas instrucciones. En mi caso tejeré otra de color negro para completar el modelo de la capa para mi personaje.

We can knit as many layers as we need, in blue, red, black or white following the same instructions. In my case I will knit another one in black to complete the pattern of the cape for my character.
