FALSE BRAIDS.

Hola amigos, me da gusto saludarles. Sigo con la emoción de realizar accesorios para mi nieta. Espero que en algún momento le sean útiles y desee usarlos. Ella es fanática del brillo y la bisutería, le encanta usar coronas y todo aquel accesorio que brille; en eso se parece a mí ☺️
Ahora que está inscrita en una escuelita de danzas me pareció oportuno hacer para ella algunos adornos para su cabello ya que siempre veo a las otras niñas con su cabello recogido o suelto con medias colas. Apenas es el segundo accesorio que le hago 🙋🏾‍♀️ el primero fue un lindo lazo que le encantó. Ya su otra abuela le había hecho uno con cintas de raso.

Hello friends, I am glad to greet you. I am still excited about making accessories for my granddaughter. I hope that at some point they will be useful to her and she will want to wear them. She is a fan of glitter and costume jewelry, she loves to wear crowns and any accessory that sparkles; in that she is like me ☺️
Now that she is enrolled in a dance school I thought it would be a good idea to make some hair ornaments for her since I always see the other girls with their hair up or loose with half-tails. This is only the second accessory I have made for her 🙋🏾‍♀️ the first one was a cute bow which she loved. Her other grandmother had already made her one with satin ribbons.

Para realizar esta primera muestra utilicé los siguientes materiales:

👑 Hilo de estambre.
👑 Cola elástica para el cabello.
👑 Colitas o ligas de goma pequeñas.
👑 Tijeras.

To make this first sample I used the following materials:

👑 Stamen yarn.
👑 Elastic hair glue.
👑 Tails or small rubber bands.
👑 Scissors.

El procedimiento me pareció bastante sencillo, aunque les aconsejo no estar cocinando ni lavando al mismo tiempo 😃 porque seguro que se van a concentrar en este proyecto y se les va a quemar la comida 😂

👑 Primero corté 30 tiras de 1 metro de hilo cada una. Luego las separé y fui agrupando de tres en tres para obtener 10 grupos para hacer las trenzas.

I found the procedure quite simple, although I advise you not to be cooking and washing at the same time 😃 because you will surely concentrate on this project and burn your food 😂.

👑 First I cut 30 strips of 1 meter of yarn each. Then I separated them and grouped them in threes to get 10 groups to make the braids.

👑 El segundo paso fue doblar a la mitad el primer grupo de tres hilos para hacer en la cola elástica un nudo alondra. Me gustó como se vio y procedí a realizar el otro con el segundo grupo de tres hilos.

👑 The second step was to fold in half the first group of three strands to make in the elastic tail a lark's knot. I liked how it looked and proceeded to make the other one with the second set of three strands.

👑 Pasé por la cola todos los grupos de hilos haciendo el nudo alondra siempre del mismo lado. Ajustándolo lo más posible sin apretar mucho la cola.

👑 I passed through the tail all the groups of threads making the lark's knot always on the same side. Tightening it as much as possible without tightening the tail too much.

👑 El siguiente paso que realicé fue colocar la cola en una base cómoda para empezar a tejer. Cada grupo de tres se convirtió en uno de seis hebras, por lo que para hacer la trenza lo dividí en tres nuevos grupos de dos hebras cada uno. En total tejí 10 trenzas. Para hacerlas más llamativas les coloqué cuatro o cinco ligas de colores a cada trenza.

👑 The next step I performed was to place the tail on a comfortable base to start weaving. Each group of three became one of six strands, so to make the braid I divided it into three new groups of two strands each. In total I wove 10 braids. To make them more eye-catching I attached four or five colored rubber bands to each braid.

👑 El último paso fue acomodar las trenzas e igualar las puntas, para ello me ayudé de las tijeras. Les recuerdo que yo trabajé con estambre, este en particular es un poco elástico por lo que debí ser muy cuidadosa al trabajarlo. ¡El resultado me encantó!

👑 The last step was to arrange the braids and even out the ends, for this I used the scissors. I remind you that I worked with worsted, this one in particular is a bit elastic so I had to be very careful when working with it. I loved the result!

Si deseas hacer las trenzas más largas y más gorditas debes calcular antes de empezar a cortar los hilos. Para este modelo veo muy bien esa cantidad de trenzas ya que son para mi nieta que solo tiene 5 añitos. Si las hiciera para mí serían en color negro con unas cinco trenzas adicionales. Yo no tengo mucho cabello y de paso se me está cayendo desde marzo del año pasado 😔 estoy quedando calva. Pero bueno, solo Dios sabe porqué nos pasan estas cosas. ¡De todos modos me la probé y me gusta como se ve!

👑 If you want to make the braids longer and fatter you must calculate before you start cutting the strands. For this model I see very well that amount of braids since they are for my granddaughter who is only 5 years old. If I were to make them for myself they would be in black with about five additional braids. I don't have much hair and by the way my hair is falling out since March last year 😔 I'm going bald. But hey, God only knows why these things happen to us. anyway I tried it on and I like the way it looks!
