Hola amigos 😀 espero que estén muy bien y deseo para ustedes una muy productiva semana. Desde hace unos meses he querido compartirles una experiencia que viví por primera vez en mi vida. Es un sueño hecho realidad.

Hello friends 😀 I hope you are very well and I wish for you a very productive week. For a few months I have wanted to share with you an experience that I lived for the first time in my life. It is a dream come true.

Hace unos meses, creo que dos, recibí la visita de un amigo de la familia, yo siempre muy emocionada de verlo ya que mi amigo vive en el exterior y estaba de visita en Venezuela. Ese día me levanté muy temprano para estar desocupada al momento de su llegada. Me avisó 30 minutos antes de que estaba ya rumbo para mi casa. Lo recibí e inmediatamente me entregó un 📦 paquete, más bien una bolsa amarilla que me mandó mi hijo mayor Alejandro, él está viviendo fuera del país y aprovechó de enviarme un detalle con mi amigo.

A few months ago, I think two, I received a visit from a family friend, I was always very excited to see him since my friend lives abroad and was visiting Venezuela. That day I got up very early so that I could be unoccupied at the time of his arrival. He told me 30 minutes before that he was already on his way to my house. I received it and immediately he gave me a 📦 package, rather a yellow bag that my eldest son Alejandro sent me, he is living outside the country and took the opportunity to send me a detail with my friend.

Una vez que mi amigo se retiró abrí la bolsa de los hilos y la emoción fue indescriptible. Siempre soñé tener hilos muy diferentes a los que he visto en las tiendas de mi ciudad y la verdad es que me sentí súper emocionada. Tocarlos, olerlos y verlos frente a mí fue una experiencia mágica. De verdad les digo que no sé si era solo por el regalo en sí o porque sentí a mi hijo cerca. Saber que él se tomó el tiempo para buscar tienda, elegir hilos y enviarlos me hizo sentir muy dichosa. A la vez mi corazón se arrugó un poco porque deseé abrazarlo fuerte y agradecerle.

Once my friend left I opened the bag of yarns and the emotion was indescribable. I had always dreamed of having yarns very different from the ones I have seen in the stores in my city and the truth is that I felt super excited. Touching them, smelling them and seeing them in front of me was a magical experience. I really don't know if it was just because of the gift itself or because I felt my son close to me. Knowing that he took the time to store, choose yarns and send them made me feel so happy. At the same time my heart crumpled a little because I wanted to hug him tight and thank him.

🙋🏾‍♀️ Ahora les describo y relato un poquito sobre los hilos.

Los ovillos que ves en color marrón y rosado son hilos de algodón. Tienen una textura muy suave y delicada. Con ellos no he realizado ningún proyecto todavía. Viéndolos me provoca tejer con ellos algunos pasteles o helados ☺️

The balls you see in brown and pink are cotton yarns. They have a very soft and delicate texture. I haven't made any projects with them yet. Seeing them makes me want to knit some cakes or ice cream with them. ☺️

Estos otros no trajeron etiquetas. Es un hilo de algodón más o menos grueso. Es divino para tejerlo. No lo calibré, pero lo tejí con una aguja de 4mm y los proyectos quedaron muy bonitos. Con ellos elaboré un estuche con flor, un lazo y un tulipán 🌷. El hilo rojo ya lo usé todo y del verde queda menos de tres metros 🥺

These others did not have labels. It is a more or less thick cotton yarn. It's lovely to knit with. I didn't gauge it, but I knit it with a 4mm needle and the projects turned out beautifully. With them I made a flower case, a bow and a tulip 🌷. I used up all the red yarn and there is less than three meters of green 🥺

Hace algunos años, tal vez cuatro o cinco viví una emoción similar viendo un video de un compañero tejedor llamado David, tal vez lo conozcas. Él tiene su página llamada Tejiendo con David, actualmente está compartiendo tutoriales con frecuencia sobre puntillas y orillas a crochet. Explica muy bien. Él recibió de parte de muchas tejedoras de Latinoamérica una caja grande repleta de hilos, hace unos años. Se lo enviaron como incentivo para que continuara creando. Desde esa vez yo he estado deseando recibir un regalo así y ya ven, de alguna manera mi deseo se está haciendo realidad. Se siente muy bonito cuando otras personas reconocen y valoran tu trabajo y colaboran para que nuestra pasión siga con esa llamita encendida.

El título de mi publicación es porque en esta oportunidad la felicidad tuvo su precio. Mi hijo compró los hilos a un precio razonable según él. Aquí en Venezuela jamás los habría comprado ya que realmente sí los hay sus precios serían inaccesibles para nosotros. O pudiéramos pedirlos por Amazon y otra página de venta, pero repito desde mi país adquirir este tipo de hilos no es barato.

A few years ago, maybe four or five years ago I experienced a similar emotion watching a video of a fellow knitter named David, you may know him. He has his page called Tejiendo con David, he is currently sharing tutorials frequently on crochet lace and edgings, he explains very well, he received from many Latin American knitters a box of knitted fabrics. He received a large box full of yarn from many knitters in Latin America a few years ago. They sent it to him as an incentive to continue creating. Since that time I have been wishing to receive such a gift and you see, somehow my wish is coming true. It feels very nice when other people recognize and value your work and collaborate so that our passion continues with that little flame burning.

The title of my post is because this time happiness had its price. My son bought the yarns at a reasonable price according to him. Here in Venezuela he would never have bought them because if there are any, their prices would be inaccessible for us. Or we could order them through Amazon and other sales page, but I repeat from my country to acquire this type of yarns is not cheap.

Estas madejas colores negro y blanco son un hilo mucho más delgado, tengo la duda, pero la siento como una combinación entre acrílico y algodón. Cada una pesa 100 gramos y el grosor es de más o menos 2mm. Con ellas quiero hacer el pingüino que les mencioné en un post anterior.

These skeins black and white colors are a much thinner yarn, I have the doubt, but I feel it as a combination between acrylic and cotton. Each one weighs 100 grams and the thickness is about 2mm. With them I want to make the penguin I mentioned in a previous post.

Y estas últimas tres madejas son las que desprenden un olor fenomenal. Es como estar en una habitación repleta de hilos recién procesados. Les confieso que no quiero usarlos 😂 Son de un calibre de 4mm, su textura es entre delicada y rústica. No sé cómo hacer la descripción de los hilos 🤔 ¿Será que hay clases para ello? Lo que si les digo es que estos que les muestro son hermosos.

Mi hijo siempre me pregunta qué he realizado con los hilos. Me dice haz Amigurumis, pero él no entiende algunas cosas. Lamentablemente seguiré tejiendo proyectos pequeños porque a pesar de que estoy súper feliz 😀 esta cantidad de hilos no alcanza para los que deseo hacer con hilos gruesos. Así que los seguiré admirando y disfrutando de su aroma hasta que algo se me ocurra y me arriesgue, ya que si no me alcanza habré perdido el tiempo.

And these last three skeins are the ones that give off a phenomenal smell. It's like being in a room full of freshly processed yarns. I confess I don't want to use them 😂 They are 4mm gauge, their texture is between delicate and rustic. I don't know how to do the description of the yarns 🤔 Could it be that there are classes for it? What I do tell you is that these that I show you are beautiful.

My son always asks me what I have made with the yarns. He tells me Amigurumis beam, but he doesn't understand some things. Unfortunately I will continue knitting small projects because even though I am super happy 😀 this amount of yarns is not enough for the ones I want to make with thick yarns. So I will keep admiring them and enjoying their scent until something comes to me and I take a chance, because if it's not enough for me I will have wasted my time.
