Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien hoy. Con mucho gusto y gran emoción vengo a contarles cómo estuvo nuestro segundo ENCUENTRO ENTRE AMIGAS 🫂, si pudieron leer mi publicación pasada deben recordar que les comenté que haríamos otros encuentros para conversar, compartir, crear y documentar. En esta oportunidad nos reunimos para elaborar accesorios con tela de jean. Nuestra facilitadora para este mini taller fue la amiga @katiuskamata quien previamente nos envió vía WhatsApp la lista de materiales y herramientas a necesitar. En este ameno encuentro nos reunimos mi hermana @linita, la facilitadora y yo. Escogimos un día jueves ya que todas teníamos la disponibilidad del tiempo requerido.

Hello friends, I hope you are feeling great today. With great pleasure and great excitement I come to tell you how was our second MEETING BETWEEN FRIENDS 🫂, if you could read my last post you must remember that I told you that we would do other meetings to talk, share, create and document. This time we gathered to make accessories with jean fabric. Our facilitator for this mini workshop was our friend @katiuskamata who previously sent us via WhatsApp the list of materials and tools we needed. In this pleasant meeting my sister @linita, the facilitator and I got together. We chose a Thursday since we all had the time required.

Como les mencioné, la facilitadora nos envió la lista de materiales con anticipación, nos dió tiempo para reunir los materiales, cuadramos fecha y hora, organizamos y decidimos el lugar y todas dimos la aprobación. Nos reunimos en la casa de mi hermana, tomamos café, comimos torta y por supuesto creamos maravillosos accesorios. A continuación les muestro la lista de materiales enviadas y posteriormente los que logré reunir.

As I mentioned, the facilitator sent us the list of materials in advance, gave us time to gather the materials, we set a date and time, we organized and decided the place and we all gave our approval. We met at my sister's house, had coffee, cake and of course created wonderful accessories. Below is the list of materials sent and then the ones I was able to gather.

Me emocioné mucho al saber que trabajaríamos con material reciclado ♻️ ya que desde siempre me ha gustado aplicar esta técnica para alargar la vida de algunos materiales. Encontré en mi cesta de retazos un trocito más o menos bonito y con él trabajé. El jean fue la materia prima junto con otros materiales.

I was very excited to know that we would be working with recycled material ♻️ since I have always liked to apply this technique to extend the life of some materials. I found a more or less nice piece in my basket of scraps and I worked with it. The jean was the raw material along with other materials.

• Hilo chino.
• Tela de jean.
• Tijeras.
• Aros de bisutería.
• Anzuelos pescador para aretes.
• Lápiz.
• Hoja de papel.
• Silicón líquido.
• Regla.
• Cinta métrica.
• Hilo y aguja de coser.
• Pinzas de bisutería.
• Encendedor.

• Czech crystals N°4
• Chinese thread.
• Jean fabric.
• Scissors.
• Jewelry earrings.
• Fish hooks for earrings.
• Pencil.
• Sheet of paper.
• Liquid silicone.
• Ruler.
• Tape measure.
• Sewing thread and needle.
• Jewelry tweezers.
• Lighter.

Preparation:

La facilitadora nos dió la instrucciones luego de comprobar que todas teníamos los materiales requeridos. Las primeras indicaciones fueron elegir una figura del ambiente natural para dibujarla en la hoja blanca. Ellas eligieron una hoja 🌿 y yo elegí una flor.

• Dibujé la figura de una flor calculando primero el espacio que abarcarían los cristales.
• Recorté la figura y la usé como molde para sacar la figura en la tela.
• Debíamos tener tres figuras: dos para los aretes y una para el dije del collar.

The facilitator gave us the instructions after checking that we all had the required materials. The first instructions were to choose a figure from the natural environment to draw on the white sheet. They chose a leaf 🌿 and I chose a flower.

• I drew the figure of a flower by first calculating the space the crystals would span.
• I cut out the figure and used it as a mold to draw the figure on the fabric.
• We had to have three figures: two for the earrings and one for the pendant on the necklace.

• A cada figura ya cortada en tela de jeans le hicimos algunos flequillos, como verán en mis flores no saqué un flequillo muy largo.
• La facilitadora nos permitió dar rienda suelta a la creatividad y yo elegí hacer el dije y las flores para los aretes de un tamaño que me guste usar. Ni tan grandes ni tan pequeños.
• Cada figura la sacamos doble con la finalidad de esconder los hilos que quedarían visibles luego de coser cada uno de los cristales. Yo usé siete cristales para cada flor.
• Cosí con hilo azul marino y aguja de coser cada uno de los cristales en la flor de jean.

• To each figure already cut in jeans fabric we made some bangs, as you will see in my flowers I didn't make a very long fringe.
• The facilitator allowed us to give free rein to creativity and I chose to make the pendant and the flowers for the earrings in a size that I like to use. Not so big and not so small.
• Each figure was double stitched in order to hide the threads that would be visible after sewing on each of the crystals. I used seven crystals for each flower.
• I sewed with navy blue thread and sewing needle each of the crystals on the jean flower.

• Luego de coser todos los cristales agregué unas cuentas doradas que me regaló la maestra 😊 lo que le dió un toque más elegante a estas florecitas.
• Al terminar de fijar todos los cristales y las cuentas doradas procedí a coser ambas piezas de jean para ocultar las costuras. Desde su puesto de trabajo la facilitadora siempre nos asesoraba y chequeaba que todo andara bien. La pasamos buenísimo creando y charlando.

• After sewing all the crystals I added some golden beads that my teacher gave me 😊 which gave a more elegant touch to these little flowers.
• When I finished attaching all the crystals and gold beads I proceeded to sew both jean pieces together to hide the seams. From her work station the facilitator was always advising us and checking that everything was going well. We had a great time creating and chatting.

• Después de coser lo que hice fue colocar en cada florecita una argolla de bisutería, ubicándola justamente donde sería el tallito de la flor.
• A dos florecitas le coloqué el seguro pescador para aretes y la otra flor la colgué en un collar de hilo chino color negro. A este collar le coloqué aritos o argollas de bisutería y un seguro pico e'loro.

• After sewing, what I did was to place a costume jewelry ring on each flower, placing it exactly where the stem of the flower would be.
• To two of the flowers I placed the fisherman's safety catch for earrings and the other flower I hung it on a black thread necklace. To this necklace I placed earrings or costume jewelry rings and a parrot's beak clasp.
