Is Borage The Most Gorgeous Flower Ever?
Hey everyone, it would appear that sneaky Pete has a collection of the most beautiful plants around great for some wonderful hive content to boot.
It grows satisfactorily in gardens in most of Europe, such as Denmark, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, remaining in the garden from year to year by self-seeding. The leaves are edible and the plant is grown in gardens for that purpose in some parts of Europe.
The plant is also commercially cultivated for borage seed oil extracted from its seeds.
The plant contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, some of which are hepatotoxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic (see below under Phytochemistry). More here as per Wikipedia.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borage
These glorious sunflowers above are purely ornamental. I have recently come to this discovery whilst snapping a few pictures and asking Sneaky Pete where their seeds are, "ornamental flowers buddy" his reply, they make for stunning pics though.
From a distance this plant doesn't really jump out as anything special. A few shots close up with a macro camera and a whole new world of beauty opens up, pretty right?
Glorious blue borage certainly one of my favourites, and bees love it too.
Nature the incredible.
I trust you have a wonderful weekend.
Love, light and blessings.
Cheer$;)
Yeah man, it's one of the easiest things to grow too! You're not kidding about the self seeding either, my first year that I grew them I started off with 4, the next year I had to pull up about 70 tiny seedlings before it took over!
Wow amazing, what do you use it for?
Borage is really the prettiest of flowers. Have you had the random pink flowers on your plant yet?
Nope wow thats amazing, do you have a pic?
