A Different Family Day: We Picked Various Fruits and At the End We Went to a Birthday Party

It's so good when we do something that is outside of your everyday life. Especially when it happens on a Friday to top off a weekend that I hope will be incredible for me and my family. Yesterday was an atypical day and do you want to know something? It was a really cool day, because everything we do as a family is worth every moment.

Even more so when our children are involved. Unfortunately, my two boys couldn't go, as there wasn't enough space to take them in the car as my mother went with me, my wife and my baby. I know that my daughter is still quite young, but I believe that somehow, she will keep a little of this moment in her memory.

As our day-to-day life is quite busy, it is almost difficult for us to find a day off to take my children somewhere and this opportunity yesterday was very interesting as a friend of my wife had invited us to go to the farm her. We took the opportunity to harvest mango, jabuticaba, acerola and jackfruit.

The farm was much bigger than I imagined. There was even a football field there. As this time of year is the time to pick mangoes, there were some trees full of mangoes to pick. Imagine how much there was already on the floor. It didn't take long for my daughter to pick up her mango and start eating hahaha...

The highlight was when we all went to harvest jabuticaba. I have a very small jabuticabeira at home, I now remember that I need to prune it, as it was a seedling of a jabuticabeira that I gave to my mother as a birthday present. It sits in her backyard in a large pot. But the two we saw at the farm were large and well loaded with jabuticaba. At some point it was possible to see the branch with those huge black balls.

It is possible to see a lot of jabutica that falls to the ground because it is so ripe.

Have you ever eaten jabuticaba? Did you already know this very unusual fruit among other fruit trees? The curious thing is that the fruit grows on the trunk of the tree.

Imagine how sweet they were. The jaboticaba seed was so small that when we put it in our mouth, it exploded because it was so juicy. We took advantage and filled our bags.

The acerola was also delicious. I think I could harvest some to make juice. Natural juice is always better, don't you think?

The harvest overall was very good. It had been a while since we had a harvest this big. As I'm typing this, my wife is making mango mousse. I have no doubt that it will be delicious as she gave me some to try before she put the mousse in the fridge.

It was already starting to get dark and we remembered that our neighbor had a 1st birthday party. I took advantage and called my children to bathe and get ready in advance, since my house only has one bathroom. Imagine 5 people in a house needing to bathe? LOL

The party was really cool and it's so good to eat birthday cake. My daughter didn't want to leave some toys that our neighbor's house already had. Good thing there were some balloons for her to take home, as she didn't want to leave the party.

Yesterday was a very good day and being able to be close to my family and enjoy important moments like those I had yesterday is very rewarding. I believe that the next time we go to the farm, my children will want to go.
