Card Collection
It feels like card values have been totally butchered for a crazy long time now and it doesn't feel like there is ever going to come an end to it. From what I understood, Matt recently said in a podcast that the only real thing he cares about is getting new players in so card values themselves continue to be neglected but if enough new players come in they eventually should go up.
around 2 years ago, this was my card collection value with 17036 BCX and worth 24176$ (which was already well beyond the absolute peak)
Right now with 33621 BCX they are worth just 2648$.
The crazy part I guess is that I'm still well within profit on the game as always just re-invested what I earned and already took enough profit out of the ecosystem in the past 5+ years. So even if everything would go to zero, it would only have been a massive waste of time which did provide some fun.
Card Accumulation
Right now, Max Level cards have become the norm for everyone as they are actually affordable. This should not be the case though and in fact this should only be achievable for whales as it used to be. In the end, there are only so many of each card and I do believe there always will be a core audience for the game who really love it for what it is. These are the cards next on my list which I plan to buy with the HBD earnings I'm getting from my blog articles here on Hive.
Card Buy List!
I haven't used my Lily Shieldpaw for 42 days as I only have it at level 3 needing 5 more copies to level it up. It is one of those summoners you really can build a very strong and synergized deck around. Right now for 5 copies, it would cost 11.64$ and I want to see that go below 10$ before I possibly make a move.
The Almo Cambio is a meta card as Weapons Training gave No Attack cards a crazy boost and the Immunity along with the Lily Summoner made for some nice combination having it as a tank that is sure to get healed. The high speed also makes it pick up some misses thanks to the Phase ability. I currently own 8 Single Copies and I would need 3 more combining all of them. This in a way is value destruction as singles usually go for more. At the same time, this dynamic has totally been crushed by the Wild Tax as nobody will pay much more for single level 1 copies these days. Right now it would cost me 17.87$ in a very thin orderbook but I would like to see someone sell a eleven 2 that includes 3 copies for 15$ or less. It very well might never go that cheap having me miss out, I would need the Lily also to really make it worth it though.
One of my Go-To Decks is often one with Death and High Speed using Astral Entety + Nightmare + Corrupted Pegasus + Spirit Miner + Ravenhood Warden & Supply Runner. One of the cards that also really fits well into this list is the Boogeyman as it has Rust + Slow. I currently have it at level 6 with 26 extra single copies which means I need 54 copies extra to get it to Max Level which gives it 1 extra health and the Demoralize ability which for sure makes some difference. At current market prices, this would cost 10.75$ extra for me to get there which still just feels like a little too much so I'm waiting for someone to sell one cheaper.
Ever since I Maxed out my Daria Dragonscale Dragon Summoner along with the Silvershield Assassin, I have the tools to make a really strong sneak deck. The one card that would make a big difference if I had it leveled up would be the Sand Worm as the extra speed makes it more likely to hit and the Piercing counters it's greatest weakness. Right now I own it at Level 7 (150 Copies) and have 37 BCX as single cards. This means I need a whopping 213 more to get it to Max Level. There are only 90 BCX available under 0.1$ which just makes it waty too expensive and I will just be keeping an eye out if someone wants to sell at some point in time. at 0.1$ average price it would cost me 21.3$ while at max I would want to pay only 12$-15$ max to do the upgrade.
The Iziar is a key Life Soulbound Reward card which I only have at Level 2 with 2 extra copies, so I still need 1 more to get the key Martyr Ability which I got screwed by so many times. Putting this card in the middle next to 2 strong cards and a Ressurect just is a really strong combo I right now have no access to. So I will be trying to get it buying more Gtd Legendaries from the Glints shop once the season is over.
Conclusion!
I continue to have fun Buying and leveling up Key cards to Max Level in Splinterlands while the prices continue to fall down. I will bring another update on my progress next week.
