Splinterlands | Buying & Leveling Beta Summoners!

I still believe there is another adoption wave ahead for Splinterlands which has put me into full accumulation mode for a while now. Today I pulled the trigger to use my recent HBD Blogging earnings to buy and Level up 3 Beta Summoners...

Accumulation Mode!

I've been in accumulation mode re-investing nearly all my earnings from the game for a while now and I will continue this as long as prices continue to trade way below where they used to be.

I started adding to my SPS stack last week at a price below 0.02$ with an eye to cost-average buy my way up to 150k SPS Staked but price already went up above my maximum buy zone. The good thing however is that this motivates to play and earn more and better.

I did manage to buy some and am now up to 118274 SPS on my main account and 21504 SPS on my Alt account.

With Card Staking on land coming next, it should come along with somewhat of a supply shock where many players put their cards to use on land. Especially the older cards will get an extra use case there since they have higher mining power. Owning these cards in wild should give an extra edge and the rental market likely will have a lot less supply. I do think there needs to be a mechanic where older cards retain their value, especially the ones with smaller supply and high power. Summoners have always been a big bottleneck in the game and when new players come in, they all are going to need them.

Buying Beta Summoners!

For a long time, my goal was to have Level 5 Summoners and play in Gold below their maximum allowed limit. This is mostly because the cost simply didn't justify the potential extra earnings. Since the Legendary Summoners at Level 3 equal Level 6 in Rare Summoners, I slowly started to level up some key cards to max gold level to a point where now the Level 5 Rare Summoners that I owned are pretty useless and each time I want to pick them I avoid it because they don't allow me to get the maximum out of my cards. I already leveled up the Arlic Stormbringer way back as that was the most powerful one. A while back I also pulled the trigger on getting Tyrus Paladium to Level 5 leaving me with Malric Inforno, Lyanna Natura, & Zintar Mortalis still at level 5. The average price of those cards however went down to around 1$-1.5$ right now which for a total cost under 60$ allowed me to get all 3 of them from Level 5 to Level 6.

So I pulled some HBD Earnings and Leveled them up!

Upcoming Buys Priority List
The cards that I'm eying right now to pick up are the Legendary High Priest Darius which is selling for around 14.5$ a copy. I only have a single one but would like to get it at Level 3 which means 5 more or 73$. I'm also looking to buy 4 more copies of the Legendary Lily Shieldpaw dragon Summoner which currently sells for 11.5$.

Conclusion

All my HBD Blogging earnings will be put to good use going forward as I think cards right now are at an affordable level and I still do enjoy playing the game after all this time! If SPS would drop back below 0.02$, I would switch my accumulation target to that again instead of buying cards. Right now after leveling 3 more Beta Summoners, I have more options to choose from and I will be putting them to use for sure in the coming weeks hopefully increasing my win-rate a bit more and maybe land me in a spot on the Gold League leaderboard which pays some prizes!
