Sorare.com Week 20 | Tier 2 Rare Reward & Card Buying Spree (+60$ Earnings)

I have highly been enjoying Sorare.com a lot now going into my 3rd year mainly playing in the Rare competitions. Each Week, I'm making an update post on what's happening in the ecosystem and how I'm doing personally.

This was a good week in Sorare with no MLS or Eredivisie which left the door right open for the Jupiler League to do well. I was fortunate to have a couple really strong scores which earned me a Tier 2 Rare Reward Card along with a Tier 3 Linited and a Tier 4 Limited card. I also started using the 50$ in credits that I earned last week which with the Chistmas Editon cards got me another 15$ in direct purchase value.

Regular Season Week 19 Rare Results

It's rare to have 5 players all at once with a good performance and I ended 3rd out of 437 players who entered the rare Challenger League. The Tier 2 card also was a playing Goalkeeper which I already owned a copy of (De Wolf) and I will be using him as he's one of the few that is near sure tobe 1st goalkeeper also next season.

Player Transfers & Reward Card

Aside from earning 3 reward cards, I also went on somewhat of a buying spree with part of the credits that I won.

Mahamadou Doumbia is currently injured but he looked to be the real deal and just felt cheap at 2.62€ for a young midfielder.

Thibaud Verlinden is a good striker for Beerschot who likely will relegate but I see him always making a transfer to a good sub-top team where he should play everything.

Jean Butez is probably the best goalkeeper in Belgium who is benched in Antwerp because of circumstances as he didn't manage to make a transfer. However, from what I read there has been an agreement with either Como or Lens and I do expect him to be a starting goalkeeper again so 17.4€ after the discount was a good enough deal for me.

Justin Janssen is a young midfielder from Denmark who I know nothing about

Muca Langoni is a U23 striker who plays in the MLS and regularly gets high scores

Ortwin De Wolf is a sure starter and one of the few goalkeepers who with high probability will also be in the goal for Mecheen next season. They also are ok defensively so a reliable pick and I will keep him.

Lucca Kiaba Mounganga is supposed to be the next Mike Penders for Genk. I picked him up as a rare card and as a Limited with an eye to level him up the coming season. I don't expect him to play anytime soon though but it would be nice to have a max level copy the moment he starts to get in the picture.

Valencia so far has not impressed for Antwerp but I need some cheap Under 23 strikers and he is one that has been getting a starting place for Antwerp.

Frigan I bought a 2nd copy as I think his price is on the cheap side. He's a sure starter for Westerlo who I believe also takes the penalties and still has a couple years to go in the Under 23.

Season 2024-2025 Owned Collection Value

It's fairly easy to track your personal earnings on the Sobase.Football website. We seem to be at a point again where the rewards don't fully compensate for the drop in card values over time as more get printed and dumped on the market.

I am no longer putting outside funds into Sorare at this point and will track my total account value from here on out weekly. It's been pretty much a race to the bottom as sorare isn't able to come up with dynamics where card prices hold their value.

Conclusion

I'm still having a ton of fun with Sorare and I'm highly looking forward to the coming weekend. If I win something or manage to break even I'm already a happy player. Given the continued inflation, this is a game and not an investment.
