Jupiler League Week 23 Sunday Previews

avatar

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

Saturday was an ok even though it could have been much better if there wasn't a goad from Oostende in minute 50' of the 1st half. I however managed to win my first corners crypto bet on xfun.bet and hope more will follow. 4 Matches as always for Sunday and I'm looking forward to the action!

Anderlecht vs Antwerp

Anderlecht right now is not great but also not horrible. They took an away win last week against Seraing on a small and bad pitch. They still have some work to do during the transfer window, especially on the offensive end. Dreyer however does look like an enforcement. Overall they have been negative against the asian handicaps this season especially at home and quite neutral on the total lines. 63% of the goals in their home matches have come in the 2nd half where they are 8-3 on 10 corners or more. Generally, they are still on my list of possible teams to oppose especially when they are the favorite. Antwerp has had a pretty good form lately winning 3 of their last 4 matches with 2 goals or more but losing 2-0 against Union who were better. They have a lot of missings still and their main striker Janssen is suspended which leaves them short of the scoring end also because Frey left during the winter. I was considering Antwerp with a draw no bet option at 1.80 during the week but it was not quite enough really for me to take the risk since it remains a match that needs to be played. Odds went crazy this morning reaching as high a 2.26 in a sharp move and coming back down to higher were they started. I don't think this will be a wide open encounter from the start and the previous time these teams met in week 16 they had 0.07-0.09 expected goals in the 1st half. This made me take a cautious pre-game bet of 0.2 units on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.002. I also took a tiny 0.1 unit bet on Anderlecht Team Total Under 1.25 @ 1.790 and I will see how the match goes live before maybe taking something extra in-game.

Cercle Brugge vs AA Gent

AA Gent has had an ok form lately without overly impressing and still having many missings. They are now inside the top 4 with everything to lose and it won't be easy for them to land a playoff 1 spot. They managed to win last week but were helped by the ref who gave Stvv a controversial red card early on. Cercle Brugge has been playing ok but at the same time without really being impressive. Away against Oostende they were the slight better team winning 1-2 and in their last home match against Union they took a 1-1 draw in a match where they kept going for it late. The home match before that against Westerlo they tried but just didn't manage to create much. I do think this will be a difficult match for AA Gent and have my eye set to take some on Cercle Brugge +0.5 if odds reach 1.80 or more. Both teams also are very equal of goals in 1st and 2nd half and I'm leaning toward the 1st half over. For now though, No Pre-Game Bets

Zulte-Waregem vs Club Brugge

Zulte-Waregem somewhat is in revival mode after the winter break with Bruls & Vormer as enforcements in the midfield. They managed to take 2 wins (against Anderlecht away and Mechelen at home) a draw (at home against Westerlo last week) and a loss (with 1-0 away against Genk). Vormer won't be allowed to play which for sure is a blow to them. Club Brugge is somewhat in crisis and the team has yet to find its best form. The coach change didn't do anything and they are still looking for their first win under Parker. The fact remains that they have the player quality and the main question is when it really will come out. This remains a match between a relegation candidate and a potential playoff 1 team who are very much looking for a win and I do expect Club Brugge to be the dominant team at the start looking for the lead in a similar way how Westerlo in their last away match against Zulte Was better winning the 1st half. I took a cautious 0.15 unit bet on Club Brugge 1st Half -0.5 @ 2.132 with an eye to potentially take more.

Genk vs Seraing

Genk didn't play last week due to snow and also didn't take the trip to Eupen which they will do now during the mid-week. They continue to be one of the best teams in the league won 13 out of their last 14 league matches with just one slip-up away against Kortrijk. Seraing remains one of the worst teams in the league in last place but they rarely lose by more than 1 goal. They are however without Bernier in this match which is their best player I would say by far. For some reason they always manage to score away but I see it more as luck that is on their side since they are crushing the expected goals. I'm not going to overthink this one and I do see Genk coming out strong and dominant making the difference in the 1st half to afterward lay back and control the match conserving energy for the mid-week match. I took 0.3 units on Genk 1st Half -0.75 @ 2.070 and also 0.2 units on Genk -1.5 @ 1.903 with an eye to potentially take more in-game depending on how the match plays out. I also took a 1.2 mBTC crypto bet over at sportbet.one on Genk 1H -1 @ 2.680
