Saturday was pretty neutral without anything that was great or bad. Still 4 matches to go and I'm looking forward to some more action.
Genk vs AA Gent
Genk is currently in 6th place and they are in a somewhat inbetween zone. Definitely not bad but also not great by any means. If this trend continues they will put up an ok but not great performance today. AA Gent seems to have adjusted their style of play increasing the intensity to match teams like Union and Cercle. So far they are pulling it off and especially in top encounters have shown to deliver good performances. The downside is that they potentially suffer fatigue later in the match. For me the gap between these 2 teams was nowhere near where the handicap opened which made me take a 0.204 unit bet on
AA Gent +0.5 @ 1.918 which by now came down to a +0.25 line which feels more correct. I will keep it at that for now.
Kv Mechelen vs Sint-Truiden
Kv Mechelen is showing some signs of improvement with a good performance last week away against Kortrijk. This might have been due to a poor home team so I'm keeping that very much in mind. They now took 2 wins in a row getting them outside of the direct danger zone and just 1 point short of STVV which feels unreal. Stvv can be seen as one of the revelation teams so far but they actually haven't taken that many points. Their main weakness remains the offense as they nearly exclusively rely on Koita scoring on Distance shots, free kicks, or penalties which got him up to 10 goals already on the season. Similar for Mechelen, scoring is not easy as they only managed to find the goal 16 times. Usually at home they play more forward but this isn't really showing in the numbers. As a result, the line is set at 2.25 but at the same time, I would not be surprised if a bet line Over 3.5 at 4.0+ held some good value and I might have a small go at that in case the match doesn't look too defensively. Based on the quality of play from both teams so far over the entire season, I would always go for Stvv +0.25 but given the improved form of Mechelen lately I feel like the line is pretty correct. So far, every match of mechelen at home had 10 corners or more while the last 3 away games of Stvv also each saw at least 10. This is also something I will keep in mind. For now though

Club Brugge vs Standard
Clube Brugge right now is only 7th in the league and they are still searching with a combination of the defense not being top quality and the Strikers still having to find good form. The midfield and the wingers on the other hand are doing good. They played without Vanaken in the mid-week getting a big 0-5 win over Besiktas with Thiago finally finding the goal. Deila used to be the coach of standard witch might bring an extra dimension but it's hard to say who it will actually favor. Standard had a better period right after they got all their enforcements looking way more secure but they didn't fully manage to keep this expecially with the big 6-0 away loss against Antwerp where they were absolutely nowhere. This makes them really hard to trust. I would not be surprised for a similar scenario but at the same time them taking points also wouldn't since they shown that they do have quality while Club Brugge only showed this during the mid-week while dissapointing the months before. Standard also is better when not having to make the play. It's another match where I will just wait and see before getting in.

Union vs Cercle Brugge
Union dropped their winning streak with a draw away gainst Gent making a good comeback after a difficult 1st half. They did have a mid-week match but so far these haven't really influenced them. They continue to be a strong side but often get really high handicap which they still cover. Cercle continues to play their own style refusing the play football with high press and very vertical play forward. Despite their intentions to get in front of the goal of their opponent as quicky as possible also creating enough chances, they are now 11W-2L on the asian under line which these lines aren't really getting adjusted to that. Last week I had a position on the under which was quite uncomfortable in the first half since the pace was high but it still pulled through. Union on the other hand is a slight over team and they tend to cover their handicaps while they have excellent results in the 1st half. Cercle so far away has only lost the 1st half away once but had draws in all others. This will be a match with high intensity from both teams which might not help the overall quality. For once it feels like the Union handicap is quite reasonable also knowing they went and won with 0-2 in cercle deserved. Union so far at home had 4 out of 8 home matches go to 12 corners or more while Cercle away had 3 out of 7 go to 13 or more. I did take an initial 0.057 unit bet on
