Some Conga beat for #ttt 65
Miami Beach
Hello Hivers and music lovers!
In the last two weeks, between duties here and there, I have not been able to participate in one of my favorite Hive initiatives, the #threetunetuesday or #ttt initiated by @ablaze. Thanks to the #ttt, we discover new tunes or listen to some we had forgotten in our memory.
Today, I'm going to share some music from a singer that came to my mind while reading one of the entries of the recently finished edition of the Blog of the Month of the Silver Bloggers Community, which this time was about musical memories. But before going into the matter for those of you who are not familiar with #ttt, let me tell you what it is about. In the words of Ablaze:
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.
You can find out more at ablaze's post for this Tuesday with his recommendations for this week, the #65.
Getting back into the swing of things, today I'm going to share three songs performed by Cuban-American singer Gloria Estefan. She and her husband, the musician, and producer Emilio Estefan, are a reference to Latin music. And one of the most influential couples of the Latin artistic movement in Miami.
So without further ado, here are my three tunes for today.
Tune 1 - Conga - Miami Sound Machine
Conga was the song through which I discovered Gloria Estefan in the 80s. At that time, she was the lead singer of the Miami Sound Machine band, which emerged in the late 70s led by musician and music producer Emilio Estefan.
Miami Sound Machine started a musical style that mixed pop with Latin rhythms. I hadn't heard the song in a while, and watching the 80s video of the song was like a trip down memory lane.
In the late 1980s, the band name was no longer used. And Gloria Estefan's solo career began under the musical production of her husband, Emilio Estefan.
Tune No.2 - Mi Tierra - Gloria Estefan
In the early 1990s, in 1993 to be precise, Gloria Estefan, as a solo artist, released her first album in Spanish. An album full of Latin rhythms, but in which she explores her Cuban roots. It is with this album that I listened to Gloria Estefan for a long time, and I still like all the songs on that album today.
The next tune is named after the album Mi Tierra.
Tune No.3 - Tus Ojos - Gloria Estefan
On the album Mi Tierra there are many beautiful songs, some boleros like Con los años que me quedan and Mi Buen Amor. But one of my favourites from the album has always been Tus Ojos.
This is all for today.
Thank you very much for reading!
Enjoy the music, enjoy life!

Gosh, this brought back some memories. Gloria Esefan, is she still performing? I quite liked The rhythm's gonna get you when I was uhhhhgggmmm in school lol. Seems so long ago already.
I can see you in the reflection of the car, great photo.
I think she is still singing, although I can't say for sure. She and her husband have a lot of power and influence in the Miami artistic scene, but I stopped listening to her a long time ago. However, the album Mi Tierra and the Conga brings back a lot of memories.
Thank you, you are a good observer 😄
And thanks for stopping by 😊

I'm not that familiar with her songs. I only know a few. I didn't even know she sang Conga lol!
Hehe, Kuboy! Conga was her most well-known song, but it was famous in the 80s, and you are too young to remember, lol;)

Lol! I think the first song I heard that I know she is the artist was Music of the Heart, a duet with N'Sync.
Haha!! I used to like her in the Miami Sound Machine era when she was starting her musical career, hehe. And I never listened to her again when singing in English. Maybe I'm getting old, haha.
Well, everyone has their time I guess :)
Old music are so beautiful, tita. I also like old music.

I enjoyed your music choices. I love Conga, it's very cheerful and positive, it's impossible not to feel good but also nostalgic while listening to it. Tus Ojos is also very nice song. Greetings amiga! 🥰

Have a wonderful week, amiga 🤗
Third video link broken... I don't know why that happens? It happens in some of my posts as well - youtube thing?
I just danced a l'il bit while I was pretending to wash the dishes (it's taking all morning as it turns out to get them done :/)
Do the Conga - wow. A blast from the past. It took me right back there for a few minutes :)
Too bad you can't see the third video. It happens a lot with youtube and the territories where we can see the videos.
Conga was an era, hehe 💃😄😊

Great to have you back and these songs (other than the first one) are new to me and I enjoyed them. It's always good hearing brand new tunes and the Conga vibe is good.
