How can everyone conclude without me? Mat said. Being the number one among all, I should be the first point of contact instead, they all sidetracked me. This is what I hate most in my life. Let me see where they are going to invite me for anything important, Mat said.

It's another reunion period and everyone in the family is always invited but Mat is the backbone to making the reunion happen since he is the overall. Invitations must be sent to everyone who is out of town as well as those overseas. Mat is not in town as his work has always been a yardstick of attending the five days family reunion. Although, Mat is the backbone of making the reunion happen as he is the sole eye of the family. Everyone looked up to him as an important person, someone who is ready to support him at all times. Someone can say sit and everyone present would sit without questioning.

An invitation has been sent to everyone as well as Mat. They all got prepared as the day approached. On a normal day, Mat would have come home for the celebration but he was nowhere to be found. This got everyone triggered and Harry, his younger brother said, it might be because of his work or something else. His cellphone was dialed but he refused to answer.

I can't answer your calls. Do they think I'm a fool? They only call when they need help or when they need something important from me, but this time, I won't take it anymore, they can not take me for a fool. Mat said to himself.

After many calls and pressure, Mat finally answered his phone.

"It's me, Ezekiel".

I know and how are you? Mat asked.

I'm fine Sir, Ezekiel answered and asked "Why have we not seen you in the upcoming get-together?"

Tell others I cannot come. Tell them I have been cheated and would not honor the invitation no matter what, Mat replied.

His presence is perfectly important in the get-together or else, it's not going to be held.

"What have we done to you?" Ezekiel asked.

Remember I'm the number one in the family and have a say over you all. So, doing anything at all must involve my presence. You all gathered and disposed of my entitlement without my consent and now you are all asking me to attend the family reunion? I can't honor the invitation, Mat said from his end.

Ezekiel was left in the dark after hearing what his elder brother had just let out.

We were supposed to call and tell you what was happening but somehow we could not. I don't know where you got this information from but this is not the correct and the latest information. Ezekiel said, not knowing that Mat had hung up the call. He waited for a response, not later discovering he was talking to the thin air. Ezekiel tried to call back but was not responding.

Meanwhile, Mat barred Ezekiel's line as well as other members of the family. He was not ready to waste his saliva anymore on people who did not regard him.

It's a day to the reunion and everyone who had been invited has been present except for Mat, their elder brother. They were all worried because, without him, this would not hold as laid down by their father before meeting his ancestors.

His abode was just a few hours from his hometown and Ezekiel and one of the elders were sent to meet up with him and explained things clearly to him. He was not called anymore but was caught unaware of where he lived.

Uncle Jim asked him, what's the problem? What did you say you are not going to make yourself available at the family reunion even after being invited? You of all people should not say you are not going to be present as everyone in the family looked up to you. Without you, this reunion would not be possible.

Please, do not look at it as if I'm stylishly turning you down. You are an elder in the family and my father's younger brother. You of all people should know what my siblings have done in my absence.

Uncle Jim responded, please, let me explain what you failed to understand. No one had disposed of your entitlement. No one has even had it in mind to let you down. What you thought and heard was the wrong message. I think you are old enough to call your brothers just to confirm the truth, but you just kept mute keeping them as enemies. I think you need to apologize to your siblings as they have been the ones protecting your image.

I don't understand, Uncle, Mat said.

Your entitlement is still intact and no one would ever think of letting it go just like that. Some families dashed into the property and wanted to claim it, but your siblings stood firm to make your name stand among others. Uncle Jim said

Mat later got the true picture of what was happening and prepared fully for the family reunion.
