I'm a proud teacher
Being a teacher keeps me going and agile. Being a teacher is something that I can boast of in my life. I'm a nation-builder and have built students in so many fields.
Teaching for seventeen years is not a joke, but then I kept asking myself, “To what benefits has this brought to me?”
To be sincere, I may not have benefited from this job of mine, but somehow, the benefits are on the way.
I bought a piece of land some months back, which I needed to prepare a “Deed of Ownership.” I did not think twice before giving one of my students, who is a lawyer, a call. He immediately responded and asked me some questions about the land I had bought. He just wanted to be sure that I had bought land from the right source. I sold him one, to which he warned me to steer clear of those families. I returned my thoughts after the strict warning.
Seeing this one, he also asked questions related to the owner. I told him, and he advised me to go ahead. I paid, and now the deed assignment was prepared by him. At some point, I thought he was going to collect at least something from me, but to my surprise, he did not ask for a dime from me. I thanked him for what he had done, but then he made a statement that kept me smiling even until this moment. He said, "Mr. Agaga, what I have done is not up to what you have done for me as my teacher.” ***
After that day, he had been tipping me with some money, and to cut the story short, during the COVID-19 period, this boy gave me some money, which gave me joy. I was not having enough and was seriously hoping for manners to fall. The money he had given to me took me a long way, and I can never in my life forget the help he had rendered to me.
A parent also called me one fateful day and handed me a considerable sum of money during the COVID-19 period. I received a lot from my parents, both my immediate ones and my past parents. This is to tell you that everywhere you go, the teacher can always take the credit and can stand out in the presence of his past and present students.
So many people believe that there are benefits to being a teacher, but I don't believe in those people. I knew vividly that teachers are builders; they are molders and inspirational fathers, facilitators, instructors, and the like. I'm one of them.
I have taught in a particular school for seventeen years, but before then, I had taught in a school for one year and another for another year, making a total of 19 years in the teaching service.
Teaching for those numbers of years is something that has given me so many experiences. Although it is not an easy task to teach, then going into teaching can bring some in-depth inspiration to humanity.
I'm new to this present school I'm working at, and in it, there exists love and kindness. Meeting new people with different minds is something I found so great and sweet.
My prayer is that “my immediate students should excel in the subjects I'm teaching them.”. Teaching mathematics and further mathematics is not an easy task, but then I have taken teaching as part of my life. So, teaching students what they find difficult is not a problem for me. In my formal place of work, my students made their papers (mathematics) with flying colors. Even the weakest passed mathematics.
I'm proud to be called a teacher.
Originally, I was not ready to face the realm of teaching, but then passion and likeness to become a nation-builder drew me to the realm of teaching. When I was still in secondary school, when asked, I was not ready to choose the oath of teachers. When I first delved into teaching, I promised myself to come out of it after gaining some money from it. I was ready to face what I was calling passion***” Electrical Electronics Engineering,” but the more I kept growing deeper in teaching, the more passionate it was in my sight.
A few years later, I was fully drowning in teaching and was not ready to come out of it. It was not that I was gaining a lot of money from it, but the love and care I was getting from the students, as well as the knowledge I was imparting to the students, was growing exceedingly. Leaving the teaching line is a never-expecting thought.
To every teacher right there, I hail you all. To every teacher right there, just remember that you are a nation-builder and someone to whom everyone looks. The president today was taught by a teacher, and every leader out there is taught by teachers in so many ways.
I hail the teachers and my colleagues.
God bless us all and bless our handwork. May we live long enough to experience more of the teacher's day?
This write-up is not coming late, as we celebrated Teacher's Day today in my school.
Glad I had you as my teacher. The time spent with you were the best moments in my history. Your words were full of life and ideas. Anyone privileged to be your student would always remember your teachings. I hope to see you at the top ♥️💗💕
Thanks a lot, my boy. You are a student indeed and one with passion.
