Diamonds can now store data for millions of years. They can hold 1.85 terabytes per cubic centimeter
But it's diamonds we're talking about so it's expensive now, but this breakthrough could preserve our history

definitely didn't know. That's pretty damn cool! Synthetic diamonds aren't very expensive though, as far as I know - perhaps that could be used?

It's been said that the crystal skulls have that same ability. All that's needed is the technology to read and write data to the diamonds (and crystal skulls).
I'll be going to research extensively on Crystal skull didn't know much about it
