What is necessary and what is not

We are living the days of the most beautiful time of the year Christmas, where the festivities are seen in every street, in every house, on TV, on cell phones is contagious Christmas spirit. These festivities bring with them the acquisition of things that many times we are not needing or are not necessary enough.

Society has turned us into consumerist people and if we put a topic under discussion such as fashion, last year the pants for women were with extremely narrow boot and for this year is flared and here is the dilemma would say a good friend, if we still have last year's pants and this year we can not use them because socially we would look bad, and we run and buy those that are fashionable, that's what we have planted in our minds.
Bringing another very particular issue are the Christmas decorations, Christmas is very nice well I take it from the spiritual point of view, I do not necessarily have to have a Christmas tree over two meters and lights up to the toilet to be in tune with Christmas. All these accessories, plastics, that we buy in excess are clearly unnecessary.
In my opinion, covering the basic needs of human beings should be the priority.
If our children see this behavior of ours as parents who are compulsive buyers of what is in fashion, what is in trend, what everyone has, we would be teaching our children that the material is what is important in these times, and that is not what we want for them.
Someone would say "I buy this and that because I need it", and the next day it is already garbage, if in my city we see how the piles of plastic and cardboard are the ones that decorate the city after the Christmas holidays, this pollution will take hundreds of years to degrade in the containers and garbage dumps. So if what I buy today and tomorrow I throw it away, was it really necessary or not?
