Web 2 & Web 3: My Thoughts on A Better System
Many of us are already accustomed to Web 2 and its many applications. Web 2 was a transition from Web 1, which was the earliest version of the internet technology. Web 2's dominance has grown over the years due to the many benefits it has offered.
One area we can begin to explore is its many advantages, such as how it has presented to us media connections and communication, which enabled online interactions to be done seamlessly. With its diverse applications, it was easier to connect to different people around the globe for business, learning, and socializing.
Despite all the benefits that we can think of about Web 2, its main downside has been how the whole system is controlled. Web 2 is centralized, a system that only shifts more power into the hands of media players than the user. This centralized control has led to issues of censorship, lack of transparency, and data breaches. It is always the centralized players who have power over the usage of your data, and they sometimes do so even without your knowledge or consent.
Web 3.0 presents to us a better system where users have their data stored on decentralized networks amd not on a single database or server. This distribution of data across a network of computers and servers makes it more difficult for hackers to gain access to user's data, which helps to prevent data breaches.
One key issue that Web3 has addressed is by presenting a more inclusive system that is user-centric. I believe this is a better system. Everyone wants to own and control their own digital assets and data, but unfortunately, this hasn't been the case with Web2 applications, where big tech players in charge always have the absolute control.
With this kind of control, monopolistic action is always prevalent in most Web2 platforms. Users can easily be blocked or banned when they fail to comply with the platform's rules, and their content is often censored. Decentralized networks often involve community-driven governance where every user plays a crucial role as important stakeholder.
Being an important stakeholder means that you can contribute towards how the network should be run and profit from your contribution as well. We all desire freedom of expression, security, privacy, and a sense of belonging in any system. With Web3 offering all of that and more, I believe it is a better system than Web 2.
Look forward to seeing the greater effectiveness of Web 3
Web 3 is the future
The emergence of web 3 has been one of the best thing that has happened to the world. bringing people out of a centralised system into a decentralized system of having full control of their assets and funds. We hope for more effectiveness and more userbase of web 3
Web 3 adoption is growing each day and it's indeed the future
I think this is also why web3 will eventually become widespread and prevalent as it empowers users and brings back control to them. Web2 has outlived its usage and will have to give way to a better system like web3.
Web 3 is the future
