Updates: Hive Promotional Tour and Books Donation To Schoolchildren in Tabere Methodist JHS, Ghana
The hive tour to four schools in Ghana's Ashanti region began yesterday. This promotional tour was organized as part of the Hive empowers communities project, which was funded by @valueplan and the Hive ecosystem. In this post, I update the Hive community on our visit to the first school in Tabere, a Kumasi suburb. Reaching out to these educational institutions has allowed us to make a significant difference in the lives of many schoolchildren while also exposing a large number of people to Hive. Five schools have already benefited from the initiative, receiving copies of the Hive books that will be useful in their academic work.
Tabere is one of the towns located on Kumasi's outskirts. It's a small town, and Tabere Methodist Junior High School is the only public school in town. The school, like the majority of schools in underprivileged regions in Ghana, has had several difficulties in providing students with access to learning tools or resources like books, computers, and classrooms. The donation of Hive books was significant because it alleviated one of the school's concerns about learning materials.
They gave us a heartfelt welcome and led us to the school assembly ground, where the pupils were already assembled. The head teacher opened with his address to the students before inviting the Hive team to follow with theirs and share any information with the students about the hive empowers communities project. The students who were overjoyed to see the Hive books paid close attention to everything we said
I must say that this is always the moment I look forward to; the opportunity to always inspire these young people to take their education seriously and become better people in the future. We also gave them a brief overview of the blockchain technology and Hive, as well as how anyone can start their journey on Hive using the information provided on the Hive branded books.
The head teacher expressed his delight at the books presented by Hive, which he said would be excellent resources to aid in the students' education. He thanked the Hive ecosystem for the thoughtful act after receiving the books and mentioned other challenges the school was facing in the hopes that other stakeholders would hear and help. We were pleased with the amount of impact we were able to make in the school with the help of the Hive ecosystem.
Following the books donation, Hive presentations were given to teachers who had shown a strong interest in learning more about the blockchain and the Hive ecosystem. The Hive-branded books are excellent learning tools for students as well as excellent promotional tools because they contain all the details about the Hive ecosystem that one needs to get started and even sign up.
Despite some difficulties with the network the area, we were able to help two teachers to sign up(@chrisebo and @gidangob). We will be assisting them so they can learn more and become familiar with the Hive ecosystem. They will be enrolled in our newcomers program and receive guidance as they navigate the Hive ecosystem. Those who would later decide to join us would receive the necessary support to join us here on Hive.
We will always be appreciative to everyone who has helped us to make these impacts by supporting us in a various ways. We sincerely appreciate the fantastic support from @guiltyparties @theycallmedan, @taskmaster4450, @doze, @ocdb, @resonator, @acidyo, @ackza, @v4vapid, @blocktrades, @adetorrent, @daveks, @bhattg @felixxx @newsflash @zuerich, @lichtblick, @dswigle, @tomhall, @bradleyarrow, @lichtblick, @awuahbenjamin, @ellizbeth.
