The Currency of Impact: Choosing Influence Over Money
Achieving greatness in life seems like a very long journey, but in truth, it's not always as long as it may seem. Sometimes, when you see what others have accomplished, you begin to wonder when you will be able to do the same. Each one of us aspires to become an important individual, someone who possesses qualities that others seek, need, or look up to. This desire explains why, in today's world, people strive for influence every day. I see this ongoing trend so much in the world of social media; a lot of people will do just about anything to gain followers, attention, or recognition. Money often serves as the primary motivation behind these pursuits.
Have you ever wondered why people are so eager to go viral at any cost? For some, it doesn't matter what it takes; their ultimate aspiration is to achieve virality. The secret behind this relentless pursuit lies in the numerous opportunities that accompany being trendy, with money being one of the key benefits.
Once you're well-known, others start to follow you, paying close attention to everything you do, even if it lacks substance. People go to great lengths to become trending sensations. On social media platforms, some people choose to go nude during live videos or engage in some kind of irresponsible behavior, all in the pursuit of popularity. The aim of trending and gaining followers seems to be a serious quest for many. Amidst all of these quests that many chase, they often forget to focus on the important things they should be seeking first.
Misplaced Priorities
Those who solely focus on money and are willing to do anything on social media, even at the expense of their dignity, have a misplaced priority. People often direct their attention towards things that are not the most important aspects they should be seeking. Achieving greatness or success in any field shouldn't begin with the pursuit of money, but rather with building influence. When you have influence, money will eventually follow. Influence is what causes people to seek you out. Each of us possesses something others need, and that is what grants us influence.
Everything starts by stepping out and revealing to the world what you have to offer
I've come to realize that gaining influence requires stepping out and showcasing what you have to the world. It's not just about focusing on money; it's about demonstrating what you possess. I believe that gaining influence starts with that initial step. With the presence of social media, people have been given platforms to showcase their dancing skills, singing voices, creative skills, knowledge in various fields, and much more.
I can write and share my unique perspectives, much like this post. I can sing and engage in various activities. Thanks to the Hive blockchain, I've been provided with a platform to initiate something. In my own world, I had always believed that one needed to refine certain skills, build a following, or secure a significant platform before venturing into the world. But I was mistaken. Last time I checked, YouTube hadn't hindered anyone from showcasing their talents, and platforms like 3Speak is open for everyone to explore without discrimination.
The simple truth is that anyone can become influential in just about anything, but it's all about coming out and showcasing their unique talents or skills. The only hindrance to how far most of us could go is not stepping out and showing the world what we have. The world is waiting for you to display what you have to share, don't hide and don't hold back. Money shouldn't be your first focus; instead, prioritize growing your influence.
People can do all kinds of things just for money and fame, caring less about their self-esteem. It is very unfortunate that people do not care about self-respect anymore. This makes me wonder how social media is hurting us more than it is helping.
It's important that we don't prioritize money over self-respect and engage in actions that have the potential to cause us to lose our self-respect. If everyone of us could think that way
how peaceful and safe our world would be.
Hello
It is true that people have been obsessed with being relevant if they measure the consequences in their own person
The best thing is to be yourself and let your own talent come out
Hola
es verdad que la gente se ha estado obsesionado por ser relevante si mide las consecuencias en su propia persona
lo mejor es ser uno mismo y dejar que lo propio talento salga a relucir
I agree, being yourself help you more to know what you uniquely made of and also focus on your personal growth.
