Hive Expands Impact: 17th Borehole Set for Construction
Hive Empowers Communities projects continue to expand, reaching out with the power of Hive to change lives. Since its onset, the project has birthed 16 boreholes and other initiatives that have empowered people in different ways. Today, we are happy to announce that plans are underway for the construction of the 17th borehole.
Communities that have benefited from these projects are those that have faced water challenges, and this project has helped them gain free access to clean water. The 17th borehole will be constructed at Nsuta Kwagyei (Nsuta Quadjei).
The town is among several other communities that have struggled with a serious water shortage over the years. Their main water source is a river located several kilometers away from the town. This means residents have to walk a long distance to access water. Another issue is the safety of this water source, as contamination poses serious health risks to those who drink from it.
The announcement of the construction of the Hive Borehole was great news to the chief, leaders, and residents of Nsuta Kwagyei. Over the years, they have searched for better alternative water sources but to no avail. After finalizing plans through a meeting with our team, the chief, and the leaders, we will begin construction this week.
All necessary arrangements to ensure smooth operations have been made. If all goes as planned, the entire construction should be completed in no more than one week. We will continue to provide updates regarding project developments as we always do.
