Throwback Monochrome Monday

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share a few photos from years past when I was organizing my photos the other day!

Throwback Monochrome Monday

I have taken a lot of pictures that's for sure! What often happens is that things end up getting disorganized and I lose pictures for months or years at a time LOL. I am certainly finding that out, the other day!

I've definitely improved my organizational skills in many areas of life, and one of them is organizing my photos into folders. I take the pictures, make the edits and I used to save them to a few different locations. That ended up causing quite a headache for me so what I eventually did about a year ago was create specific folders for the different pictures. I organized some photos, but then got tired of doing it and have done it every now and then since. I just finished the last bit the other day from the biggest offender, and now I've got some "new" photos that I took a while ago!

My son and I go on quite a lot of adventures together, finding really random things. Sometimes we find old abandoned machinery, other times we find beautiful rocky rivers or things of that nature. I always bring some type of photography device with me, which works out pretty well that our phones have great abilities to take pictures! There isn't a substitution for a nice DSLR camera though, in my opinion. If we can get a lightweight one with us, I love to take photos with that thing when we go out.

The good thing about lately is that we have 2 DSLR cameras, which is certainly something we are spoiled to have thanks to having a bit of disposable income. That means that we now have the chance to take the bigger, heavier one where we know we want to get some beautiful photos but not necessarily have it hanging off our neck the whole time, or the smaller lighter one where we can have it easily available. I took a bunch of these photos with the latter, and certainly appreciate that ability!

Going back into the photos I took last year, the year before or a longer time before has been a fun trip down memory lane. I remember each of these photos fondly, because they were different unique scenarios. I think this is one of the ways in which I can help myself remember the things that happened in the past, by taking lots of pictures of the things. I look at a photo and I am quickly brought back to the time which we took it. Such as this photo of the surf smashing against the rocks in the ocean.

Seeing these different pictures in black and white also is a nice thing. We tend to focus so much on the vivid and amazing colors of these types of things but can sometimes forget that black and white brings a much different perspective. I love seeing each of them in black and white to see the more dramatic elements of them, especially the smashing of the waves on the rocks!

The surf smashing on the rocks is clearly the main protagonist of this post.

I may try this monochrome challenge too.
Although I don't have DSLR camera's I'm sure I could get some good pics with my phone.

The picture of the rocks was with my phone! :D

One thing you should do is just try to focus on the shot. Make sure your phone camera lens is also clear. Practice taking some photos and see where the good range is. Some cameras are better in mid range like 5-10 feet while others are better in the 2-3 foot range. Long range isn't as good with phones but that's ok.

As for me, I don’t know how to keep pictures or maybe I don’t cherish them
Once I change a phone, I don’t even back up the old pictures
I just start afresh again and that’s why I don’t have my old pictures on my phone
I’d change that about me though
Also, these pictures are nice!

Yeah I certainly went through quite a bit of time where pictures weren't very important to me. I've learned how to appreciate them though!
