The Podcast Community
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to introduce the newest community that I decided to start: The Podcast Parlor!
My interests tend to vary.. but I think that's good!
I am replacing some of the communities I've created with different ones. Not that I don't have the interests that I originally set out to create with the communities, but that I have evolved in my interests. The Rant community is the only one that has taken off so far, which is okay. I don't know if I can manage multiple successful communities at once to be honest lol. I think that's a good problem to have!
These days, one of the most important focuses of my day to day existence is learning all that I can and being exposed to so many different avenues through podcasts. Podcasts have really changed my life and the lives of millions of people in the world. There are certainly fucking garbage podcasts out there, but there are also lots of really important and wonderful podcasts as well.
I don't know exactly what I will be discussing on the podcast community. It might be highlighting important podcasts for my personal journey and choices or it might be specific quotes or something that I heard for one. I don't know but what I do know is that I wanted a community where I could share and talk about things that are focused on the podcast space!
I know that there are certainly a lot of people here on the chain that enjoy and listen to podcasts on the regular. I am hoping that this gives another space in which people can expand and grow themselves!
I think one of my most important reasons for being as affixed to the podcast space that I am is that I tend to find podcasts in which I can learn a lot. It isn't a specific set of topics, but I tend to bounce around quite a bit. I tend to listen to the big ones like Rogan or Peterson if they have an interesting guest but I don't religiously listen to them. There are a lot of podcasts in which I could care less about. Rogan has a lot of his comedian friends on and they may be having fun, but I for the most part am not interested in listening to a couple comedians just talk shit and discuss their process or something. That's for some people, but not for me.
I've got a really extensive list at the moment of people I regularly tune into. I think I will make a specific post on those one of these days soon! In the meantime though, I did want to introduce the community here and hope that I can get some people to start posting in it.
I know that I am definitely going to need some photos for the community. I want to get a cover photo and a profile picture photo for the community set up. I am torn between asking the Hive community to participate or just using AI image generation for it. I guess I will start with the first one and see if I can get some humans interested, versus having to revert to the latter.
Calling the community the Podcast Parlor was actually a fun one for me. I like to do alliterations as much as I can, although it doesn't always work. With the Podcast one though, I knew I wanted to make an attempt! I remember parlors as a kid, where you got to sit down and enjoy some quiet time with a book or something. I think of that type of atmosphere when I am enjoying a nice podcast!
What about you, do you enjoy podcasts enough that you'd think of creating a community dedicated to it?! LOL Let me know in the comments!

I also prefer listening to podcasts, especially the long and insightful ones. Makes me understand a particular set of topics on a deeper level.
Recently, I've been listening more to crypto podcasts, maybe I'm trying to gather more knowledge before the bull market fully sets in and I'm caught unprepared :)
Yeah that's a good idea! What are some of the ones you like to listen to? Are there any podcasts you come back to frequently on the crypto side? I've listened to a few bitcoin related ones that were pretty good!
Always looking for names of new podcasts for me to enjoy!
