Snowy Monochrome Monday
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share some pictures from snow that we got in the past!
Snowy Monochrome Monday
This winter has been one where we've had ups and downs that's for sure. We had a little over a week straight of nice cold weather, really cold so that it would freeze the lakes then we got a little bit of snow, and since then it's been relatively mild. That's not bad, really but in terms of what I want to enjoy, I want to be able to enjoy some snow! Looking at the forecast, we won't be getting much snow anytime soon sadly. Ah well, I can always look back at pictures from previous years to get a little bit of enjoyment of it!
It's funny and interesting, that a bunch of people that live in the area actually don't like snow or cold weather. They always complain about it but don't do something to change their situation and move away so they can get away from the snow lol. I prefer to live where it snows!
Snow, and cold weather in general, is a refreshing thing for me. It is a way to remind ourselves that mother nature is a cruel thing and that it takes no prisoners. If you are unprepared for the snow, you are going to be in a bad situation! The cold weather is really challenging in terms of staying warm and having a good place to sleep in the wrong conditions. Thankfully, we are lucky enough to have a place that is fairly well insulated and it's got a decent footprint so that we don't have to spend exorbitant amounts of money on heating costs, but at the same time it doesn't get super cold or super hot in the various times of year.
When we are outside though, you are in the raw and beautiful elements! I love seeing snow in a lot of ways but it's so cool and interesting to take the pictures and turn them into black and white! It's got such a vibrant and interesting look to them, far more than color pictures in my opinion, at least of the snow of course.
Seeing the whole landscape gently covered in snow, the sound incredibly quiet from the absorption of all the noise thanks to the freshly fallen snow. These are beautiful and quiet environments which makes it also more enjoyable. There is so much hustle and bustle in our lives, that it's important to have some time to be quiet and relax. Getting the chance to unwind in nature is really something special and something that not everybody gets to enjoy. I Know that I enjoy these things more as I get older, so that I know what things are important to me and what things aren't as important.
Seeing the beautiful landscape such as the river here is really remarkable. I love being able to stand next to it, the quietness of the snow with the occasional car off in the distance. Listening to the water slowly run on by. These are the reasons that I love standing by a river in the snowy time of winter. Hopefully we get a chance in the coming few weeks before winter is over, so that we can get a little bit more snow for enjoyment!

It is like this in winter, all the water that is in such places turns into ice, but here you have to be very careful because sometimes the ice that is there can melt.
Yeah ice can be challenging for sure! It destroys a lot of things but with this it was some nice fluffy snow.
I wish the people who do not like snow or cold weather over there could just come replace me in my country so I’d go there to enjoy the snow, lol
Haha yeah I find it strange when people complain about things like the snow. It's beautiful!
snow photos are always a fairytale
we've too warm winter now, so no snow for now, I enjoy it in your photos;)
Well I'm glad you got a tiny bit of it once this winter! I think I remember you mentioning that recently.
I know, I live vicariously through others too :D it's fun!
The winter season is actually getting closer to coming to an end and this is pretty cool to see. It is getting hotter now where I stayed
Yeah it's winding down but we've got a bit more left in it here!
Beautiful shots!
