Riverside Monochrome Monday
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share some pictures that I took a few months back, but didn't get to post them until recently!
Riverside Monochrome Monday
Going for hikes and walks during the autumn time is absolutely one of my favorite things to do. I've taken a bunch of them over the years, and my favorite is being able to do these things with my son. We take nice strolls for pretty long distances and it's really an enjoyable time for both him and I. I would like to think that it is some of his fond memories as he gets older, but you never know what they do remember and what they don't.
We'd been to this area a few times to go fishing but we never really did the exploration part of it until one day when we decided to just go for it. The fishing wasn't great so we said screw it, let's just go for a hike and see where it takes us. It was a great choice for sure!
This area is one that I had heard of a few times from my dad but I never remembered going here when I was younger with him, the drive from home is pretty far but from where we live it's not too bad, I think it takes about 50 minutes to get there which is pretty feasible all things considered. We fish this river because it connects one big reservoir to another, and the water is beautifully cold and crisp. Sadly there were no fish in the area really, at least any that we could see. We decided to give up fishing for the day but it was a beautiful afternoon so I wanted to spend some additional time with him outside, and decided to take him on a little jaunt. Listening to the water flowing by us was really nice!
Seeing the pictures in black and white really accentuates the beauty of the area. What you can't really tell is that it's autumn and in the prime of the changes of the colors! I know that I'll be posting the hike we took along the trail in another post but for the black and white pictures here, I made sure to focus on just the beautiful river shots that I got. I'm really enjoying when I take my phone with me on these walks. A lot of times, I don't bring my phone anymore because it disrupts the mood. For these though, I do try to take it so that we can take a few snaps here and there to take in the beauty later on. I love seeing that stone wall on the side there as it travels off into the distance. It reminds you that this area is full of rich history, and that's just one element of the local building history here!
I know the little man and I are going to go back to visit the area in a week or two and give fishing a try, see if we can catch anything respectable! I am determined to get a fish here haha.

The general atmosphere of the place quite serene and calm with the tall trees and the river flowing through on its course. I heard there are certain seasons where there isn't enough fish in the river, like they migrated somewhere else for awhile but I'm not sure whether it's actually true or not.
Yeah it's very dependent on what area it is, what fish you are talking about. There are always fish in a body of water but whether they are an adult or a baby is another thing. It is a wonderful thing but like any activity, it requires some knowledge and skill to actually catch em!
Rightly said! I think having the required knowledge to discern between these things will make the activity more fruitful and interesting.
Black and white background pictures are really beautiful
Indeed they are!
This looks like an awesome spot to try and get some fish! Good luck when y'all head back that way.
Thanks! Yeah it was a great spot, I am looking forward to trying it again in a few weeks now that winter is coming to a close. Hopefully going to catch some cold water fish!
I have always seen people say that fishing is a lovely activity but is it stressful at the same time?
Not at all! It is relaxing and a lot of fun, there is great enjoyment just hanging out by the water with friends and family.
I liked the first picture more than the others. Water and rocks are a great story.
Yeah the cover photo was my favorite as well! I love seeing water and rocks!
The view is so beautiful whenever you make these pictures and the way we work on this platform, pictures like this are special to us.
Thanks! I'm really glad I got to take the pictures, they came out nice!
Most welcome dear.
The black and white background is really looking so classy and awesome well
