Preparing to Write
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to talk about how we try to plan for things, and one of my planning elements is writing!
Preparing to Write
Writing is definitely one of my more enjoyable tasks during a day. I tend to try and do more of it when I am looking down the road to an upcoming trip!
We are taking a trip in a few weeks. Not exactly a trip that I was thinking we would be doing, but a trip nonetheless. It's nothing bad, but it's also nothing glamorous. Still though, it's to a place we've never been and we are looking forward to just getting out there and exploring a part of the country we've never been to before.
The midwest is certainly an interesting place, because a lot of people don't consider it as somewhere to go in reality. Most people think about California or Florida when they travel, but there are so many amazing places all around and they go unnoticed by a lot of people. Granted this place may not be amazing, we have to go and so we are going to make the most of it which I think is definitely the right mindset to be in.
With having to travel in a few weeks, one of the things I tend to prefer to do is load up on posts that I know I need to write, but for one motivational reason or another haven't gotten to that point yet. I'm glad that we don't travel THAT often which is a weird thing to say. I don't know if I could travel for a week at a time, every month because I would be worn out.
We've got a friend who is constantly traveling. Every other month they are going somewhere in a plane, and every other month besides that they are going somewhere else locally. I don't find that very entertaining, but that's just me. I enjoy exploring locally and within regions but doing it almost sparingly. Traveling is sadly quite expensive and I would rather not be in debt over that type of thing, and instead get rid of as much debt as possible.
The world we live in is definitely strange when it comes to these things. There is such a focus on debt that it's really insane that people don't see it for what it is: evil. I was listening to a podcast the other day and it really changed my perspective on it which was awesome. They talked about inflation that arises because too many people are saving money. The fiat system is based on constant spending and massive cycles of debt. When the economy is good and things are going really well in that regard, debt tends to get reduced quite drastically.
That means it is a cycle, which we can clearly see. Every 20 or 30 years, sometimes less, there is some fucking absurd event that sends the financial system in a ridiculous inflationary spiral. It creates all kinds of chaos but what I think a lot of people are missing, and this dude mentioned sort-of off-hand, is that it's because in order to keep the fiat debt system humming along nicely, it needs more debt. If people pay off that debt, then things don't work as intended so they have to intentionally inflict pain and suffering every decade and a half or two. It's really nasty stuff!
Well this post went a little sideways, but to reign it back in. With the upcoming travel that I am looking forward to, one of the things that I am doing over the next few weeks is to really spend more time to get things written which is an important aspect. When we go on vacation, even for something like this, I make sure that I don't spend time when we are there writing so that I can focus on my family and not as much on Hive outside of comments on other peoples posts, and those dropped on mine.
That posting spurt started a few days ago, and is going to continue well after this one here gets published!
What about you, do you try to plan for events like this by pre-gaming stuff? Let me know in the comments!

Writing is a wonderful hobby and I take 2-3 hours everyday to try and get it done.
Love the pictures though...
A lego set?
Yeah I try to factor in an hour or more a day if I can, sometimes 2 hours if it's in the cards! I do enjoy it quite a bit.
Yeah these are Lego sets from one of the Legoland themed amusement parks. Really fun stuff!
Oh hey you're from the Midwest too?! Very cool 😎 Cleveland born and raised here
Although I loke to travel around, I can 100% agree that there are TONS of cool things to see just a short skip and hop away. I think sometimes we overlook the magic nearby because it doesn't fit into the adventure narrative to explore close to home. California? No thanks 🤣
And WOWZA yes, isn't the debt system just mind boggling? It's hard for me to do anything but rage when I think that the best thing for the economy is for average people to weigh themselves down with debt. SIGH
I hope you enjoy your trip, and happy drafting until then! 😄
Not Midwest, no but we are traveling there for some stuff! I've only been to the midwest once before and did a fun road trip from Missouri back home years ago. We did stop in Cleveland once! I think I remember a cool multi-story museum with slides and shit. I believe that was in Cleveland but it could've been another city. It was a lot of fun!
We've really enjoyed all of the local stuff that we've discovered over the years! There are so many amazing places where we are and so much to do. Being on Hive, it's really opened up my appreciation for the beauty of where we are!
The debt thing is really insidious and it's just a control mechanism sadly. When people aren't loaded with debt, they have more choices and freedom than those who are saddled with it. It's some messed up stuff!

Thanks I appreciate it!
I tend to prefer short travels over longer ones, especially in terms of frequency. Longer or frequent travels takes a toll on the system and it can take a lot of adjustments to get back to normal when you arrive back home.
Yeah I have done both, short and long. I can take either one but when it's frequent it becomes a little challenging. I think because we are trying to minimize spending to get rid of debt, that it affects me more when we travel more haha.
It does take time to adjust to coming back home though that's for sure!
Well, I think there are time we dedicate for specific things and make sure they don't intertwine. For me, anything I do intertwines with my activities on Hive no matter how I try to create a demarcation, it just never works.
Oh yeah for sure, when I'm on vacation or other things I am checking Hive but being with the family, I tend not to bring my laptop and writing on my phone sucks. I love the Keychain app but it SUCKS when it comes to writing posts on PeakD. The window is all fucked up and I have to do some magic in order to get it to actually let me write anything in terms of a post. It's a real pain in the ass lol. It ruins my juice flow when I have to fight with it like that!
Sadly, I don't travel much, so I can't relate. However, I love how foresighted and organized you are about these things, planning ahead to maximize the time out there by being present and enjoying it.
The pictures are wild. I'm struggling to grasp whether some of these are actually legos or just very well-shot macrophotos. Lol really cool, dude :)
Hahah they are all Lego! We went to legoland earlier this year it was a lot of fun!
You'll eventually be traveling man! I'm sure when this crypto stuff takes off more you'll be out there exploring and also probably doing some teaching things while you're at it.
The best thing we can be in life is organized. It's not easy but it's really helpful!
Of course, it is much better if we plan first, because if we do everything without thinking, we will never succeed in this world.
