Memories Monochrome Monday

I'm back this week with some more black and white pictures that I've taken this summer and thinking about the things we did and places we went.

A lot of life is normal stuff. We don't need to be going to fancy hotels, or on expensive vacations and shit in order to enjoy ourselves. I think one of the really important things about media in general, starting with television and then eventually in the computer and digital age, is that there are people who are trying to convince others to spend money on their shit. In this case the shit is a trip or a particular place to stay and spend time. Yeah I would certainly love to go on a 2 week trip in Europe but at the same time, do I want to go into debt in order to do that? Fuck no!

What my wife and I do for the most part is just do shit around where we live. We are always able to find things pretty local for what we want to do, and I think that's a really wonderful thing. We certainly go on vacations to far away destinations but we don't have the money to do that all the time, and instead of moping around and being pissed off and depressed about it, we do what we can where we live!

This means that I get to take a lot of photos of our activities, some of it being pretty mundane stuff while others are pretty exciting. We love to go to farms for sure, and other agricultural areas. They are really important for us, and should be really important for others because of how important they are. I can't say that enough!

We do also go on short trips. For us, a few hours of a drive really isn't anything to shake a stick at. A normal drive for us is 45 minutes to an hour, where to other people that is considered "far" and they don't want to go. It's really been a comical past year, with how people we've made friends with we invite on our adventures. A lot of them don't bother and instead complain that they can't drive that far even though we try to keep it within 45 minutes of even their house itself. It was eye opening how lazy or sheltered people are, in all honesty.

In all of these adventures, I find it really fun to take pictures! It can be some pretty mundane and random stuff, but sometimes the photos end up telling a pretty good story and most importantly, help me remember the event afterwards. I think that is an important aspect of it, because we know that there is a lot of information and shit floating around in our heads. By doing small things to help us remember the event, I think that's really good!

I do consider 45 minutes to an hour to be quite a lengthy drive 😂😂
Maybe its because in my city, the places we may need to drive to are quite close 😂

Haha yeah I will never live in a 15-minute city the way the elites want us to live. Fuck that. I need my countryside! 45 minutes is a drive down the road for us lol. 15 minutes is still possible for some spots but not many.

Countryside is a liability and quite rare for some😂😂

That's part of the reason why my wife and I camp. After you factor in the trailer, it probably isn't much cheaper, but we can spend a night at a state park for $33 where a night in a hotel would be five to six times that. In fact, we are going to go camping for our anniversary this year instead of traveling to a hotel.

Yeah I'm trying to get my wife to get one lol one day. When we pay off these stupid student loans we will have funds available to do things like that. It does make a big difference! Plus you get your own bed, bathroom and all that. No danger of bed bugs and shit.

Yeah, it is quite nice for sure. There is a lot of maintenance and upkeep, but if you can do it yourself or afford to have it done, it's worth it. Student loans suck. It took forever to get my wife's out of the way.

Taking pictures can be fun especially when you are in beautiful environments
Well, you don’t have to be in a very beautiful environment before you take pictures!
