First Subway Trip

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to appreciate the little man's step forward in getting a bit older: riding the subway!

First Subway Trip

It may not be something too extravagant to many but one of the things that the little man loves above many things are trains and big machines like that. He's always, since he was a little baby, loved trains and seeing them. Every time we are at an area and a train goes by he points it out and watches it go. It's great and one of the things that I try to let him foster and appreciate as much as he can because it's the prime result of being an innocent kid.

We went to an appointment recently and that meant we were in the bigger city and I needed something to do with him. I decided that it would be a good time to let the little man have some fun and take him to the subway for the first time in his life. We've ridden other shuttles at the airport and stuff but he's never been on a subway. He really enjoyed it!

It was a little nerve wracking because I didn't want him getting any of the litany of nasty ass germs that are crawling all over the subway cars lol but I was trying not to be too anal about it. I for sure made sure he wouldn't touch his face that's for certain! He did great and he was loving riding them, sitting on the seat and asking all kinds of questions about it. The other people on the car were amused by the wonder of it all, hopefully many got to appreciate being a kid again even for a few minutes.

One of his favorite things of all was the subway surfing! Lol. When we got onto one of the cars, there weren't many seats available so I stood and let him sit. He asked if I wanted to sit somewhere else but I told him that we don't need to sit if we don't want to, we can surf it! He was amazed and wanted to give it a try. When the car was moving he realized that it really did feel like surfing! He had a lot of fun with that one for sure lol

It was a really good time for me as a parent because it is one of those things that you could miss in an instant if you let it but I enjoy exposing my son to many different things in the world so that he has a broad experience and life to reflect back on eventually one of these days when he wants to. Not all of it is great for sure, as life has many challenges but it's being able to take him on small things like this, that he enjoys, that makes so many of the difficult things for me worth it in the end.

Do we need to make disclaimers for our content now? Is that a sort of Chat GPT anxiety?

Anyways, pretty cool. Little man is growing up fast. I remember the first time I saw a subway was when I was like 8 or something. We used to only have one at Caracas. Well, I think we still do.

I can bet thinking him touching something and then his face is the pinnacle of anxiety.

Also, that fascinating view of things moving fast when you appear to be still is pure magic!

LOL I actually added that to my signature several months ago, back in December I think it was. It was when the AI Art was going nuts and people were trying AI chat bots but Chat GPT wasn't being used heavily just yet. Fuck it, human content here 100% LOL.

Yeah he's growing up really fast sadly! The subway is cool, it's fun to ride on and stuff, he was definitely enjoying himself! Thankfully he didn't touch his face, that was really bothering me lol

Little man! Is growing. What a time to be a kid huh? Lol.

If I can remember correctly I don’t think I’ve ever been on a train but I’ve seen a train maybe once or twice.

When I saw it as a kid I was so amused. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I think we were travelling with the old boy. I was about to tell him to slow down but the train was far gone lol.

I liked the experience and I believe little man enjoyed it as well.

Thanks man yeah I like to show my son these types of things. They are important for him to see and experience as it's things like this that broaden our perspectives of the world. I think it's important to show him the best that I can for the different things that go on around us!

I'm glad that you had an experience of sorts with a train! Those are pretty cool, especially when you don't live in an area where they are common.
