Can I Get To 25k HP by EOY?

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I'm here with some reflection on my Hive Power goals and if I can make it!

Can I Get To 25k HP by EOY?

With an incredible place like Hive, one of the things that has really helped me over the past 2 years is to have some type of goals of various things that I'm doing here. The first goal that I set out and have been able to achieve since I started setting myself a goal, is to consistently have a post published every single day without missing one. Granted, I've been very lucky in that I haven't had some unfortunate life circumstance that would preclude me from being able to do writing for at least a week, which is about the normal amount of posts I've got scheduled into the future.

Some of the other goals that I've been setting for myself towards the middle to end of last year is the goals from a token and Hive Power perspective. I was able to make some considerable gains towards those goals since I started formulating some goals for myself but what I've also done is try to set some lofty goals! So far this year I've been incredibly happy to have achieved my lowest goal, my ideal goal and I'm not floating near my lofty goal!

I've been reading a lot of @ezrider's posts on the aspects of having financial goals and I think I started setting myself these types of goals before they started writing these posts but after reading them it's inspired me to get better at having these types of goals! There are a lot of people to learn from and I'm taking advice from some great people, him included (I think it's a guy, but don't want to assume, there are plenty of financially brilliant women too!) and it's inspired me to set some aggressive goals and try hard to meet those goals. There are no negative consequences if I don't meet those goals such as if people don't meet financial goals if they are in sales or something but for me, it's important that I try to get to those goals.

I was thinking tonight that I should try to do some rough calculations and see if I can make things line up, to see if I could actually get to the goal of 25k Hive Power for the year.

image.png

Based on some of the numbers that I'm pulling in, which are really good numbers considering that a few years ago I was doing fractions of this in a month, never mind in a week! So in that regard I'm stoked for the progress I've made and really enjoy that. However, I am unsure if I'll be able to hit my goal! I'm trying to keep in mind that I have other obligations that I don't want to give up such as #LPUD and Power Up and Sponsor day, so I am a little unsure if, according to the trend of the past 30 days, I can attain the 25k Hive Power goal.

What's interesting is I had a little streak where I was making some incredible payouts for some of the posts and I'm not going to lie that it was awesome seeing those numbers coming in! I was able to save more HBD, exchange more and power up more. All of it goes into Hive in one way or another because I believe in the platform, the technology but I'm also saving and investing for the future.

One of the things that people, both new and old, sometimes don't think of or remember is that nothing is guaranteed! I was in the favor of a whale or two for a little bit and it felt great but then that support went away. I'm not at all upset about it! That's how things shake out around here and it's one of those things that one appreciates incredibly when it happens but we have to remember and learn that we should never expect things to continue in a specific way long term.

If I'm doing some calculations according to the payouts and rewards that I've got in for the past 30 days, plus my curation for the past 30 days, I'm thinking that it's likely I will get incredibly close! However I don't think I'll be able to cross the 25k margin by the end of the year unless I can hit a payday in one way or another. I was kind of hoping that RiftWatchers would net me more liquid Hive to power up, by selling vouchers and other assets so that I could finance some other things on the chain. That did materialize to net me 200 Hive I think, which is absolutely incredible, considering that I'm more of a casual investor than others are with a place like Splinterlands but, I was hoping for more.

With the release of SPS a little over 1 year ago, I was able to net over 4,000 liquid Hive to power up! I'm glad that I got what I did for the vouchers near the RiftWatchers launch as it pushed me closer to the 25k goal. In the end though, only time will tell if I can achieve the 25,000 Hive Power goal for the year. I am certainly going to be gunning for that number so that I can mark that goal off and look towards 2023 for additional goals. For the time being though, looking what's right in front of us is also an important thing, to see what we can do in the immediate future!

Wow, it's good to set a goal for yourself in other to achieve it, definitely I believe it will get to 25k before the end of the year. For sometimes i have not been active like that and it really affected my growing on hive but now I will be more active and @cmplxty I will love if you can delegate atleast 10k HP for me for some months so that it can boost my account too, I will really appreciate it.... Hope you are good and happy Halloween to you and your family🥰

Good to see you back Sam! I know you can grow your account with some effort, that's the most important part. The 25k, when I get there, has taken me nearly 5 years to get to so it certainly is a process but a good one overall!

Best of luck. I have another account hovering near 11k. I think I'll likely just hit 12k by year's end. I typically don't earn much on that account from posting. My balance is mostly from curation, inflation, and from buying HIVE. My goal for that account is 15k. Then I'll turn my attention to another account.

That's good, I like how you're spreading it out over a few accounts. I've got that notion in mind in some cases, so that I can have a few different bags to hold! Consolidation is certainly good as well, because the more HP I've got the more I earn in curation which speeds up the HP increases. I do want to spread things out to other areas though, so I might undertake that endeavor!

One of my Hive accounts is a private HBD savings account. Once I've reached my HP goals, that will be a fixed income account. In the long-term, HBD will be my focus as it makes the math easier. Everything has a $1 cost basis. I don't plan on selling HIVE, so cost basis should not be an issue.

Like you, I like having more HP as it increases the size of my upvotes.

Yeah an HBD savings account is a good idea. I've got a decent amount floating about spread over a few accounts so I'm enjoying that. I don't plan on selling any of it anytime soon so hopefully I can keep stacking it! I spent the whole lot of it before on Splinterlands which worked out in the end as I've made a lot of money from it but it all gets reinvested back into Hive Power or in other manners so I can't complain too much!

One thing I've seen by a few of the people I follow here is they've got quite a nice chunk sitting in HBD savings! I think one dude on here that I talk to has 5-7k in there or something awesome. Would be sweet to earn a hundred HBD per month in interest!

I’m very positive you’ll hit 25k by EOY. With a bit of luck and a bit of hard work of course.

It’s amazing to see that you’re focusing on both your Hive Power and building your second layer stake at the same time, and you’re doing great with both. That’s definitely something to be proud of.

Thanks man! I'm certainly trying to get there, making progress but there's a lot of things that would need to happen for me to make it. I did find out that I'm getting airdrops of a new game asset that I don't want so I'm hoping I'll be able to sell all of it and get some sweet Hive to power up! Lol

The layer 2 tokens are important because you never know when a new one is going to come out and sometimes they base the airdrop they give to people on a particular asset like another token. If you don't have a lot of the token, you will get less in the airdrop. Granted that isn't how many are handling it nowadays but for a while that was how it was based so I figured I'll collect 'em all like Pokemon lol

I don’t really know these airdrops work. I learned one was given around February last year(Spk or something like that) and that eligible hivers claim it on Ecency monthly.

Haha I better get serious with my layer 2 stake then, cos I like collecting Pokémon too:)
