Today I wanted to appreciate that I've made my initial goal for the year: 22k Hive Power!

2022 Hive Power Goal Met!

I've met my lowest goal of Hive Power for the year: 22k! There's a lot of 2's in there, 22k in 2022 lol love the numerology! :D

Goals

One of the most important things that I've done for myself on this journey here in the crypto space is to set myself some goals. These goals have lots of different tiers, with three separate tiers:

• Stop-gap goal: the lowest goal achievable for what I am aiming to do
• Ideal goal: the goal that I set for myself that I know in the 12 months of the year, I can achieve it in some way shape or form.
• Dream goal: the amount of Hive Power I can achieve that is possibly achievable if I can make some good moves and lucky posts frequently throughout the year that get curated well, but there is a decent chance to not attain this goal.

Having these different tiers of goals is important for sure!

I was just congratulating @readthisplease the other day for him getting part way to his goal for Hive Power for the year and that it's really great the progress he's made. What I think is more important though is to set goals! I know not everyone is goal-oriented but we need to have goals in life and those who have goals tend to be more productive and go get things more than those who just go through everything with no goals. Both situations are perfectly fine though! You can do great with having goals but you can also do great if you don't have goals. There is a lot of personal choice in there and some people choose not to have goals for one reason or another. I didn't really do well at having goals for a lot of my teenage and adult life I can tell you that!

I started to get goals though when I started my first job way back when, my first real job where I was making money in an environment that was beneficial to me. The grocery store job I had when I was in my early teens was well enough and it was actually a great place to start. If you work at a job and know that the job you are doing is definitely not your long-term career, then I think that's a great thing for you to experience in life. Some people don't get to this step!

What was great is being able to achieve these goals in a bit ahead of schedule. I figured that I would be able to make 22k Hive Power for my goal but I didn't want to sell myself short and go for something too ambitious like having 25k as my goal for the year. There is definitely a chance I could make 25k but there is a good chance I will fall a little bit short unless I can make some serious moves with something like Splinterlands.

Regardless though, every few hundred to a thousand Hive Power I am staking has been a wonderful advancement to me getting much more of a stake in the platform and boosts up the consistent accruing of the power through curation alone. I am really enjoying that I am making 5 Hive per day just in curation alone! That's a big game changer, considering how quickly that stuff adds up to compound your voting power and as the price fluctuates up and down, you are able to have a fairly consistent return on it.

I think now that my Hive Power goal is met I am going to try and focus a little bit more on HBD if I can. I want to attain at least 250 HBD in my savings account here on my account and 150 on the account I've made for my son so that we can earn some good interest every month and compound that. I see some of the people I follow closely have a few hundred to several thousand HBD hanging out in savings! I know I will get there one day to enjoy those sweet rewards but damn that is going to be nice lol.

Can I hit my 25k Hive Power goal in 3 months?! Let's see how it goes!
