The Dranguet House is a center that has always aroused my curiosity. It is dedicated to doing socio-cultural and economic research about coffee, so it is a unique center of its kind, at least in Santiago de Cuba (as far as I know). It turns out that every Saturday The Cass Dranguet has a regular space where several troubadours from the city perform, so since the music started, I could see how the sound of the guitar and the singers' voices changed the mood of the people present. There were even people dancing to the beat of the son!

I felt very happy, because at the same time, I saw that the project I want to start with my friend was getting on a good track. Also, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to try some of the local's offers. First of all, I had a frapuccino, which was delicious.

The coffee they serve there is excellence coffee! It is collected in the mountains of Santiago de Cuba and Granma, and then processed abroad, resulting in an exotic and peculiar flavor.

Later I tried the canchánchara, a drink that is prepared from rum, honey and lemon. An exquisite combination! I also ordered the well-known "buñuelos", which are nothing more than fried malanga, accompanied by some sauce.

At the end of the night I must admit that I really liked the space. It had been a long time since I saw so many people connect with music made from their own territory and from the vision of the traditional. Without a doubt, this place owes a debt to me for having discovered it so late.

Café, Trova: el mejor ambiente.

La Casa Dranguet es un centro que siempre ha despertado mi curiosidad. Se dedica a hacer investigaciones socioculturales y económicas acerca del café, por lo que es un centro único en su tipo, al menos en Santiago de Cuba (hasta donde sé). Pero además se ha vuelto un lugar mucho más atractivo por las distintas ofertas que ha presentado últimamente: servicios de cafetería y coctelería, talleres, exposiciones, cursos y música en vivo.

Una amiga mía es trabajadora de esta institución, y fue ella quien me invitó a visitarla, para así poder iniciar un proyecto juntos. Resulta que cada sábado La Cass Dranguet tiene un espacio habitual donde se presentan varios trovadores de la ciudad, así que desde que la música comenzó, pude ver cómo el sonido de la guitarra y las voces de los cantantes cambiaban el estado de ánimo de las personas presentes. ¡Hubo incluso personas bailando al compás del son!

Me sentía muy feliz, porque a la par, vi que el proyecto que quiero comenzar con mi amiga llegaba a tomar un buen rumbo. Además, no quise perder la oportunidad de probar algunas de las ofertas del local. En primer lugar, tomé un frapuccino, el cual estuvo delicioso.

¡El café que allí sirven es café de excelencia! El mismo es recogido en las montañas de Santiago de Cuba y Granma, y luego es procesado en el exterior, dando como resultado un sabor exótico y peculiar.

Al final de la noche debo admitir que me gustó mucho el espacio. Había pasado mucho tiempo desde que ví a tantas personas conectar con música hecha desde el propio territorio y desde la visión de lo tradicional. Sin dudas, este lugar tiene una deuda conmigo por haberlo descubierto tan tarde.
