Changing plans! | ¡Cambio de planes! [eng-esp]

Last Saturday I wanted to go see a play with my mom, but she canceled on me last minute because she hadn't finished some household chores. Nevertheless, she encouraged me not to miss the premiere of this play, and so I did.

Slightly late, I walked to the theater and when I arrived, I got a little scared. There were really a lot of people there, something I had never seen before. I bought my ticket and while waiting for the play to start, I looked around, hoping something interesting would happen. Miraculously, two of my friends showed up just in time to sit and watch the play with me.

The play was touching. It was called "Bésame mucho" by the group "A dos manos". This group is formed only by a couple and their director, and that day they were celebrating 50 years since their foundation. The play revisited fragments of many plays they have presented over all that time, recounting their career. I really found it lovely that they decided to celebrate their art with more art.

I thought that after the theater my day would end and I would just go home, but my friends wouldn't let me. So we embarked on a journey through the city and ended up making stops at different places.

First, we went for ice cream at "Chocolatería Fraternidad", which is a renowned place in Santiago. Then we went to a pizzeria right next door called "La Scala de Milano". Finally, we ended up having some drinks at the bar "Punto G".

Beyond these places we visited, what I liked most about the night was the surprise of being able to connect, laugh, and even dance with my friends. Unexpectedly, I got that "disconnection" that I needed, to then rest the next day and face this week with renewed energy. I am really grateful to them.

El pasado sábado quería ir a ver una obra de teatro con mi mamá, sin embargo, ella me canceló a última hora porque no había terminado algunos quehaceres del hogar. Aún así, me alentó a que no me perdiera el estreno de esta obra, y así lo hice.

Ligeramente retrasado, caminé hasta el teatro y cuando llegué, me asusté un poco. Realmente había mucha gente allí, cosa que nunca había visto. Compré mi entrada y mientras esperaba a que comenzara la obra me quedé mirando a los lados, esperando a que algo interesante pasara. Como de milagro, se aparecieron dos de mis amistades, justo a tiempo para sentarse a ver la obra conmigo.

La pieza de teatro fue conmovedora. Se llamaba "Bésame mucho" del grupo "A dos manos". Este grupo está únicamente formado por una pareja y su director, y ese día estaban cumpliendo 50 años de haberse fundado. Entonces, la obra retomaba fragmentos de muchas obras que han presentado durante todo ese tiempo, haciendo un recuento de su carrera. Realmente me pareció muy lindo el hecho de que decidieran celebrar su arte con más arte.

Pensé que tras el teatro mi día acabaría y regresaría a casa sin más, pero mis amistades no me dejaron. Así emprendí un viaje por toda la ciudad y terminamos haciendo stop en espacios distintos.

Primero, fuimos a tomar helado en la Chocolatería Fraternidad, que es un lugar insigne en Santiago. Luego, pasamos a una pizzería que queda justo al lado y se llama "La Scala de Milano". Finalmente terminamos tomando unos tragos en el bar "Punto G".

Más allá de estos lugares que visitamos, lo que más me gustó de la noche fue la sorpresa de poder conectar, reír y hasta bailar con mis amigos. De manera inesperada me llegó esa "desconexión" que necesitaba, para luego descansar al día siguiente y poder enfrentarme a esta semana con energías renovadas. Realmente me siento muy agradecido con ellos.
