Coffee is better with salty arepas
In Venezuela we usually drink our morning coffee with salty arepas and a good black coffee or coffee with milk, it depends on the day and the mood of each person.
At home we like arepas stuffed with cheese or salad. Personally I enjoy salty dishes more because I am not very sweet and at home we do not consume sugar so it is my choice to have breakfast with a salty dish.
I love it!!!π
It's the perfect breakfast π β
What a delight those stuffed arepas, Venezuelan arepas are very famous and exquisite. Where I live they sell some very delicious ones. I think it is an incomparable breakfast.
I leave you a cup of coffee for this day.β
Nothing like savory arepitas with coffee to start the day...ββπ
Arepitas πβ€οΈ & scrambled eggs is perhaps my favorite breakfast in the whole world. Pancakes are close second along with porridge and buttered toasts.
Your dish made me hungry!
This looks tasty, but I donβt think that I would enjoy my coffee with these. π Of course, only because of personal preference and maybe habits from my country and regional background.
Is there a specific salad that you can put inside, or you can add whatever your taste is?
Allow me to answer, we can fill the arepas with whatever we want, there are no exact standards, of course we have our typical dishes by region.
Thanks for the answer! There is no difference who gives me that. π
I see now, it is up to the personal taste of the people consuming it. Looks tasty!
That's right, during the Easter season, I fill it with squid, shellfish, mollusk, shredded fish and more.
That arepa looks delicious, just today I feel like eating one stuffed with tuna and avocado salad π₯ @chacald.dcymt
Uff this is a great breakfast. just today I ate something like this, it's wonderful!
Arepas is another meal that I'm eager to try. Looking at it, I get the feeling that I'd love it:)
I support you in that, breakfasts with Venezuelan-style arepa, accompanied by coffee, there is no one who can beat it. Even more so if we eat it with peeled or pinched corn, a delicious breakfast.
Look at this delight, it is not Dutch or American style, this is a Venezuelan style savory, you can enjoy it with sweet and salty, look, this is not a recent photo, but it is something I often enjoy, here is a divine coffee with a golfeado that is a mixture of both things, it is a dessert, like sweet bread because it has paprika which is extracted from sugar cane and also has white cheese ... those who have not tried it I invite you to enjoy it now!
Ah but it also reflects an Andean bread that I love, it is a bread made in the Venezuelan Andes, when I have this on my table I do not care much if I am alone or accompanied, what I want is to enjoy my moment of happiness with this rich coffee.
I want to read you girls, and do you accompany your coffee with salty or sweet? @neilamarcano @chacald.dcymt
My friend @yenmendt was very wise to select a sweet-savory. The truth is that the golfeado is delicious with a good coffee. I prefer a savory to go with it.

Thank you for the lovely mention, I love those golfeos with lots of cheese and topped with sweet paper, with our favorite drink "coffee", it's the best.
When we meet we must enjoy this delight, I take this opportunity to congratulate you and your twin on their birthdays!
Thank you my beauty, for your good wishes, I had the best time.
The dessert and breads you show us look very delicious. It really doesn't matter to me if it's salty or sweet, what I'm looking for is a delicious flavor that combines with my cup of coffee.
I leave you a cup of coffee for this day.β
Completely agree! thanks for that tasty coffee!ββ
I like to experience dishes from different countries, so this would be interesting for me. Some people like only what they are used to, but I am not one of them. π
I would really like to try your dessert!
When you come to Venezuela I will be your tour guide and I will show you a very tasty gastronomic route, in the meantime I leave you a link where I explain in detail how these golfeados are made:
Cane honey & cheese rolls are super popular in my area--east of Venezuela. I love them; I like to put extra fresh cheese on top, and I love them with coffee without a doubt. BUT I don't think I've ever had them for breakfast; for me, it's an afternoon snack, you know. I like to eat them in the afternoon, when they're most likely to make me put on weight πππ
Hahahahaha I also look for ways to enjoy myself in the afternoon or any time that provokes me!
I love golfeados, but I prefer it for afternoon snacks. That coffee looks delicious @yenmendt
They make me happy at any time hehe.πβπ
I'm super curious here because I've never seen or heard of anything similar. I'm pleased that the topic of pancakes came up so I could see this.
Otherwise, I'm a huge fan of Dutch pancakes because I prefer savoury over sweet, and I can add a wide array of foods to Dutch pancakes:)
You didn't know the golfeados? but they are divine! did you see the tutorial I left in the comments? you should do it and then tell me how you like it, that makes me very curious haha!βπ€π
Ok, I will review the instructions and try to make it sometime ππ€
If you get to make the publication please tag me!π
Sure, will do :)
In Bulgaria we usually make sweet flavor pancakes or neutral ones. Then we add bee honey, some jam and white cheese. But the pancakes we enjoy are not thick American style. We make quite thin ones and the thinner they are, the better. π
Sometimes ny wife tends to experiment with apple or banana pancakes and children always love the result. They can barely wait to eat a dozen.
And what is a tasty breakfast without some tasty coffee? Lately I started to begin my weekends with a nice AeroPress. Tanzanian coffee just fits perfectly the essence of this brewing tool.
Well, this morning there arenβt any pancakes, but who knowsβ¦ maybe tomorrow?
That looks delicious... I like the combination of flavors and the coffee looks appetizing.
πβπ
When itβs homemade it is always delicious!
I love thin pancakes. We may call them crepes, depending on the recipe we use for the batter and their size. I'm sure your children enjoy your wife's experiments with pancakes and fruit; for some reason, children love that. There's something about pancakes, definitely. And I think bananas and apples are the best choices to add to the pancake batter, at least when it comes to fruit. It tastes great, and better with coffee!
I'm curious about that Tanzanina coffee β€οΈ and also about your AeroPress coffee maker π
The pancakes look very succulent and with coffee they make a perfect combination. Enjoy your coffee with your pancakes.β
I love everything but I want to know, what is a Tanzanian coffee? is it a strong coffee?
It is coffee that originates from the country Tanzania in Africa! Actually this one is pretty good one!
Reading that I thought, I'd like to give it a try!
In Jamaica, they have the sweet American pancakes. I only eat them when I stay at hotels with breakfast included π
This doesnβt sound perfectβ¦ π
Butβ¦ when it is included in the offer, then we shall go for it. When we go to hotels I usually consume a lot of things that I would usually skip, which is a bad habitβ¦ but if it is once per a few months then it is probably okβ¦ π
I also like very thin pancakes, when I make them, I make them just like that, when my son makes them, super thick, I don't like it that way, I feel like I eat a lot of doughπ.
A breakfast without coffee is dancing without music, so my mornings start with it and at breakfast too π€£, that Aeroexpres looks really delicious.
Maybe I prefer thin pancakes too, although I
enjoy American style ones too. In my opinion it is better to say "Morning without
coffee are like dancing without musicβ. π
I usually donβt have breakfast, but this is not a reason to skip my first dose of coffee.
Our dose of coffee in the morning is essential, without it the day goes badly.
Hello dear friends, for me coffee is delicious with both sweet and salty, in the afternoons I like coffee with milk and accompany it with a sweet dessert, but in the mornings I like to take my black coffee with my breakfast.
This picture is my breakfast this morning, I prepared some empanadas with easy dough (they come already made of wheat flour) with white cheese, and that combination seemed delicious, I also combine my stuffed arepas every morning with black coffee!!!! Enjoy! mmmmπβοΈ
But what a nice breakfast.... It looks delicious but the aesthetics are impeccable. Let's toast with a coffee for a good weekend.... Bon appetit! ββππ
In Bulgaria we make similar looking breakfast from dough. It is called Mekitsi.
I like to enjoy my coffee before meals, because the sweet or salty flavors definitely change the way the coffee tastes. π
Your breakfast looks delicious!
Is Mekitsi sweet or salty? It looks very appetizing but I can't imagine how it tastes. @mdosev
It is salty or neutral, but people tend to add sugar powder to them.
Then I will love it for sure, thanks for sharing this delicious Bulgarian breakfast. @mdosev
Hey, this looks very tasty!ππ
I've never heard of Mekitsi, but I'd be keen to try it. I'll probably check out a recipe online.
I love Dutch pancakes though π
Empanadas! Yum-yum β€οΈ I love them with coffee. I can't tell if I like them better than pancakes for breakfast, or if I like them better than pancakes to go with my coffee π€ But I like them a lot without a doubt!
This is a very tasty breakfast, when I have meetings in my office I put this kind of breakfast with a good coffee, it never fails!
Hi, coffee friends!
I hope you're having a nice Sunday with exceptionally good coffee π
Although I may only eat them once every two weeks or so, I certainly love pancakes for breakfast, sweet American-style pancakes. I prefer Dutch-style pancakes for an early dinner--with a colorful salad--, and I'm unlikely to have them with coffee.
We add honey, cane honey, and/or cheese. This morning, we added some creamy spread made from fresh cheese, or should I say it's a by-product of cheese. I make a pancake sandwich; that's enough for me and I'm fully satisfied. My husband eats three to four pancakes... and we save one for the doggies π...and a little piece for Paco, our parrot--if he hasn't joined us for breakfast.
We call this cheese spread
natilla
; it tastes similar to cream cheese, but it's more acidic and lighter and a lot cheaper because it's produced locally. For me, it is so good with semi sweet fluffy pancakes and a cup of hot coffee... β€οΈFor me, it's a big yes to sweet pancakes when it comes to breakfast and my morning coffee!
Wow, with this breakfast you don't need anything else to start the day with a lot of energy and good spirits. Cheers! with a delicious coffee.β
Indeed! I can tell you about a couple of days when I had to work from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., straight through, with only a couple of pancakes and a cup of coffee in my stomach. And everything was fine!
With a breakfast like this I think all my energy comes out π looks delicious. @rinconpoetico7
Your pancakes look great and I am sure that they taste this way too! Of course, that with coffee I prefer sweet foods, but maybe it is even better to enjoy my coffee without anything. Just pure coffee taste! π
Food changes the taste of coffee, but we're used to it, as we, and I'm generalizing, often soak pastries in our coffee π But we wouldn't do so if it was specialty coffee π
Wow that stack of pancakes looks irresistible, I love them anytime. @marlyncabrera π₯
I'm saving some for you, friend β€οΈ
Oh my goodness how you put such provocative delights!
I'm saving some for you! β€οΈπ
Oh my goodness how you put such provocative delights!
That's an excellent point here. I had Dutch pancakes for dinner many evenings when I was a student in the Netherlands.
I love them heated with cheese, ham, spring onions, tomatoes, sometimes, or just about anything. I also like to roll them up and sprinkle cinnamon powder on them π
π€€
I'm thinking about how that would be. I might make some for dinner now that your Dutch pancakes have given me a craving. It seems silly of me who cook a lot everyday, but I've never thought of adding spring onion. Now I must do it! π
The pancakes are going well, they look very delicious, accompanied with that cheese spread and our coffee is a perfect and delicious combination for our palate.
I've been buying this
natilla
cheese spread in EkonoQuesos. It's really good with pancakes and toasts β€οΈπOh, what a good information friend, I will pay it with my hbd.
Thanks for the information, greetings π₯°π€
I prefer the American style. One of my favorite breakfasts are pancakes with my morning coffee. It's a treat that I often enjoy, but sometimes I get creative and add a little cinnamon, cambur cinnamon and cheese, the result is wonderful. In my house we all love it. And how dog you like pancakes? π₯
It looks delicious and if it's filled with cheese even better!
Really delicious
I'll have American pancakes occasionally, however, I wouldn't mind having Dutch pancakes daily, simply because I love savoury foods:)
I think that both versions are really a perfect complement to enjoy a good coffee β π₯
That's true, indeed!π
I also add fruits and chocolates to my pancakes, sometimes I invent a lotπ, my son is the most inventor of all π , he adds whatever he finds
There's fun in creativity. That's the idea ππ½
Pancake roll. Approved! πβ€οΈ I fill them with cheese, fruit, chocolate (but usually when I add sweet fillings it's because I have made thinner, savory pancakes, Dutch style).
Fun pancakes for an unforgettable occasion π₯
Excellent Sunday conversation coffee lovers.
Today I come to participate in the new conversation of the week with lots of coffee and flavor. This time we are asked about what pancakes we accompany our coffee with in the mornings.
Here it is not customary to accompany the morning coffee with pancakes, here we use any type of bread or 'arepas'. In my case I like to drink my coffee some small breads called 'Jamones', they don't have meat or anything like that, it's just the name. They are made of flour and in the middle they have a delicious sweet called 'Arequipe'. Of course it is not the only thing I accompany my coffee with, there are times when I make it with salt bread or sweet bread.
That has been my answer to the question of the week for the conversation. I look forward to reading more of your responses.
Great start to the week.β
Those are the only cachitos I love, haha.βπππ
They are very delicious, perfect to accompany our delicious coffee. ππβ
Excellent start week!
βπ€π€
"Nothing like peasant bread with tomato and cheese to go with your morning coffee"
is what we will tell you in my house if you ask π€.... It's good to enjoy these pleasures of life. ββπ
What is made by hand has that wonderful flavor, you can feel the love with which it was prepared. I have tried processed breads sold in supermarkets and they really do not taste the same.
Happy new week!
It's so funny you call them
jamones
; perhaps it's because they resemble the ham part of pork? It's the frist time I see the term used for some kind of bread. In Venezuela, we have something similar:cachitos
, which are traditionally stuffed with minced ham or minced ham and cheese; the dough is semi sweet. Cachito (little horn) is our version of akipferl
. All of them good with a cup of coffee πPancakes are not so popular here in the UK, either. But between the sweet American and Dutch pancakes, it's the Dutch ones for sure. I particularly like them with spring onions, cheese, and ham. It's been ages since I've eaten it, but I normally get them from the supermarket and I haven't seen any in a long time:)
Spring onions, ham and cheese sounds good on the side, I'll try to make one and see how it turns out.
Excellent start to the week with lots of coffee.βπ
A breakfast of this type always goes down well, especially accompanied with a good coffee, if it is with milk better.
