To start in "Splinterlands" you need to keep in mind that you must invest in order to generate rewards, that means that we can not start for free, so, to start in the game you must take into account a series of steps and / or investments to achieve monetize our activity, these steps immerse us in what is the ecosystem of "Splinterlands", which is quite large and with many ways to earn, something that I will cover little by little in several publications, since it would be much content for a single publication and I do not want to make them so long.
In this sense, I will start with the most basic of the game, in this case, the most basic and how it is identified, are its cards, so it is best to start by how much should be invested with respect to the cards we need to play, which are a fundamental piece that complements a puzzle to generate profits in the game, in this sense, in this post I will start sharing the estimated cost of the edition of "Untamed", an edition that was part of the "Modern Format" until December and currently, is now part of the "Wild Format".
Although before that, I will briefly explain what are the "Modern and Wild Formats" if you are coming and have no idea what they are, this will clarify all the doubts and you can make your decision of which format to play in and which editions of cards are accepted in one or the other, so, if you want to know all this information, stay until the end of this publication to know all the details:
What are the "Modern and Wild Formats" in Splinterlands and what cards can be played?
The formats in the game are separate game modes in which different SETS of cards are played, and in which there are "Pools" of different rewards for the types of cards that are played, this means that, if you play in one or another, you can get more or less rewards per battle won, this is the famous ranked battle game and where we earn the GLINT token that only works to buy items in the "Rewards Store", this in addition to the SPS, governance token of the game and that if it is tradable and interchangeable.
Rewards and cards in the "Modern Format".
The reward pool for the "Modern Format" is much larger than in the "Wild Format", which means that a larger amount of SPS can be earned in this format, however, not all card editions can be used, only the most recent ones or to be more precise the last 2 editions released in the game, these editions are the following:
- Chaos Legion
- Rebellion
Only these 2 editions are supported and allowed in the "Modern Format", on the other hand, the "Pool" of SPS rewards destined for this format, is the following, pay close attention to the values and do not give so much importance to the leagues, since the SPS earnings per battle, have certain conditions, which I will explain later in other publications, for now, take the values and compare them with those of the "Wild Format" to see the difference between the rewards.
Rewards and cards in the "Wild Format".
In the "Wild Format" the supported cards and/or allowed editions are much higher than in the "Modern", since, since the game was born, several editions and sub-editions have been released, however, I will only mention the main editions, since the others basically have the same framework of the cards of the main editions, I know it sounds complicated, but, it is not, it is very simple, but you do not need to know it now, in that sense, the SETS of supported cards are the following:
- Alpha
- Beta
- Untamed
You must take into account what I mentioned before, because, although they seem few cards, in reality they are many, of course, in this "Format" you can also use the ones I mentioned in the "Modern" which are; Chaos Legion and Rebellion, because in reality there are no limits in what we can use, in another order ideas is the "Pool" of SPS destined for this format, in the following image you can see the difference with respect to the "Modern", so pay attention:
Note: As you may have noticed, in the "Modern Format" there are many more rewards for winning battles than in the "Wild", in my opinion this should be, on the contrary, but, it is another matter, in any case, although the rewards in "Modern" are greater, the reality is that I prefer to play in the "Wild", for me it is much more fun.
Estimated investment in the SET of charts and/or edition of (Untamed)
To share the information regarding the cost of this complete SET of cards, I will use a tool hosted on the Splintercards platform , in which we can easily see the estimated cost of acquiring this edition in the level corresponding to the league that we choose, in this case, I will show an example with a deck of cards of the "Untamed" edition in the "Silver" league, in the following images that I will share, you will see the cost in a very clear way:

I share 2 images for what I mentioned before, the first image is a sub-edition of rewards of the "Untamed" edition, in that picture you can see the amount of cards, their rarities, the BCX of those cards and their "Colection Power", which basically is the burning value of the complete deck, in this case, this SET is valued at about 92$.
On the other hand, we have the second image that, if it belongs to the original edition of "Untamed", all with the same information that I mentioned before, this SET for obvious reasons is much more expensive than the previous one, since there are more cards, and it is valued approximately in 735$, this means that, to play with cards corresponding to the "Silver" league, you need 827$, of course, there are more details about the total investment, but, this is a start.
Note: Please note that this "Edition" of cards called "Untamed", can only be played in the "Wild Format", in addition to that, to advance, although it is information that I will complete in another publication, we need SPS, so the investment is higher than just buying an edition of cards. It should also be noted that there are no league limits in the game, which means that you can get players that have maximum level cards as you advance in the "Ranking".

Para iniciar en “Splinterlands” se necesita tener en cuenta que se debe invertir para poder generar recompensas, eso quiere decir que, no podemos comenzar de forma gratuita, por lo que, para comenzar en el juego se debe tener en cuenta una serie de pasos y/o inversiones para lograr monetizar nuestras actividad, estos pasos nos sumergen en lo que es el ecosistema de “Splinterlands”, el cual es bastante grande y con muchas formas de poder ganar, algo que iré abarcando poco a poco en varias publicaciones, ya que, sería mucho contenido para una sola publicación y no quiero hacerlas tan largas.
En tal sentido, iniciare con lo más básico del juego, en este caso, lo más básico y como se identifica el mismo, son sus cartas, así que lo mejor es comenzar por cuanto se debe invertir con respecto a las cartas que necesitamos para jugar, las cuales son una pieza fundamental que complementa un rompecabezas para generar ganancias en el juego, en tal sentido, en este post iniciare compartiendo el costo estimado de la edición de “Untamed”, una edición que formaba parte del “Formato Moderno” hasta el mes de diciembre y que actualmente, ya forma parte del “Formato Salvaje”.
Aunque antes de eso, explicare brevemente que son los “Formatos Moderno y Salvaje” si es que están llegando y no tienen ni idea de que son, esto les aclarara todas las dudas y podrán tomar su decisión de en qué formato jugar y que ediciones de cartas son aceptadas en uno u otro, así que, si quieres saber toda esta información, quédate hasta el final de esta publicación para conocer todos los detalles:
¿Qué son los “Formatos Moderno y Salvaje” en Splinterlands y que cartas se pueden jugar?
Los formatos en el juego son modos de juego separados en los que se juegan SETS de cartas distintos, y en los que existen “Piscinas” de recompensas distintas por los tipos de cartas que se juegan, esto quiere decir que, si se juega en uno u otro, podemos obtener más o menos recompensas por batalla ganada, este es el famoso juego de batalla clasificada y en donde ganamos el token GLINT que solo funciona para comprar artículos en la “Tienda de Recompensas”, esto además del SPS, token de gobernanza del juego y que si es comercializable e intercambiable.
Recompensas y cartas en el “Formato Moderno”
La piscina de recompensas destinada para el “Formato Moderno” es mucho mayor que en el “Formato Salvaje”, eso quiere decir que, se puede ganar una mayor cantidad de SPS en este, sin embargo, no se pueden usar todas las ediciones de cartas, si no las mas recientes o para ser más precisa las ultimas 2 ediciones lanzadas en el juego, estas ediciones son las siguientes:
- Chaos Legion
- Rebellion
Solo estas 2 ediciones son soportadas y permitidas en el “Formato Moderno”, por otro lado, la “Piscina” de recompensas de SPS destinada para dicho formato, es la siguiente, presten mucha atención a los valores y no le den tanta importancia a las ligas, ya que las ganancias de SPS por batalla, tienen ciertas condiciones, las cuales explicare más adelante en otras publicaciones, por lo pronto, tomen los valores y comparándolos con los del “Formato Salvaje” para que vean la diferencia entre las recompensas.
Recompensas y cartas en el “Formato Salvaje”
En el “Formato Salvaje” las cartas soportadas y/o ediciones permitidas son mucho mayores que en el “Moderno”, ya que, desde que el juego nació, se han lanzado varias ediciones y sub-ediciones, sin embargo, solo mencionare las ediciones principales, ya que las otras básicamente tienen el mismo marco de las cartas de las ediciones principales, se que suena complicado, pero, no lo es, es muy sencillo, pero no necesitan saberlo ahora, en tal sentido, los SETS de cartas soportados son los siguientes:
- Alpha
- Beta
- Untamed
Deben tener en cuenta lo que les mencione anteriormente, ya que, aunque parezcan pocas cartas, en realidad son muchas, por supuesto, en este “Formato” también se pueden utilizar las que mencione en el “Moderno” que son; Chaos Legion y Rebellion, ya que en realidad no hay limites en lo que podemos utilizar, en otro orden ideas esta la “Piscina” de SPS destinada para dicho formato, en la siguiente imagen podrán ver la diferencia con respecto al “Moderno”, así que mucha atención:

Nota: Como pudieron haberse dado cuenta, en el Formato Moderno” hay muchas mas recompensas por ganar batallas que en el “Salvaje”, en mi opinión esto debería ser, al contrario, pero, es cosa de otro tema, en todo caso, a pesar de que las recompensas en “Moderno” son mayores, la realidad es que prefiero jugar en el “Salvaje”, para mi es mucho más divertido.
Estimación de inversión en el SET de cartas y/o edición de (Untamed)
Para compartir la información con respecto al costo de este SET de cartas completo, utilizare una herramienta alojada en la plataforma de Splintercards, en la cual de forma muy sencilla podemos ver el costo estimado de adquirir dicha edición en el nivel correspondiente a la liga que nosotros mismos elijamos, en este caso, les mostrare un ejemplo con una mazo de cartas de la edición de “Untamed” en la liga “Plata”, en las siguientes imágenes que compartiré, verán el costo de forma muy clara:

Comparto 2 imágenes por lo que mencione anteriormente, la primera imagen es una sub-edición de recompensas de la edición de “Untamed”, en dicho cuadro pueden ver la cantidad de cartas, sus rarezas, los BCX de dichas cartas y su “Colection Power”, que básicamente es el valor de quema del mazo completo, en este caso, este SET esta valuado en unos 92$.
Por otro lado, tenemos la segunda imagen que, si pertenece a la edición original de “Untamed”, todo con la misma información que mencione anteriormente, este SET por obvias razones es mucho mas costoso que el anterior, ya que hay más cartas, y está valuado aproximadamente en 735$, esto quiere decir que, para jugar con caretas correspondientes a la liga “Plata”, se necesitan 827$, por supuesto, hay mas detalles acerca de la inversión total, pero, esto es un inicio.
Nota: Tomen en cuenta que esta “Edición” de cartas llamada “Untamed”, solo se puede jugar en el “Formato Salvaje”, adicional a eso, para adelantar, aunque sea información que completare en otra publicación, necesitamos SPS, por lo que, la inversión es mas alta de solo comprar una edición de cartas. Cabe resaltar también que, no hay limites de liga en el juego, lo que significa que puedes conseguirte jugadores que tengan cartas de nivel máximo mientras avances en el “Ranking”.
Conclusión
Espero que este post ayude a los nuevos usuarios a observar la cantidad de dinero a invertir en “Splinterlands” con la finalidad de ganar recompensas, por supuesto, algo que debo aclarar también, es que este caso o la información de este especifico post, es si el jugador e inversor, quiere tener propiedad de las cartas, ya que, también esta la modalidad de “Alquiler”, lo que implica una inversión muchísimo menor que la expuesta anteriormente, por supuesto, tiene sus riesgos y es mas complicado calcular el “Riesgo-Recompensa”, pero, es posible hacerlo.
