Visiting my in-laws and making hanging rice there.
Hello to all my friends here I hope everyone is doing well and great.
Come on friends, I'll show you what we do every time I visit my parents-in-law. Last week we went to Lapu-Lapu City to visit my daughter's grandfather and grandmother. Every time we go there we bring goods as a gift.
And I was happy with my daughter because she wanted to give her grandfather a puppy so that he could walk with him every morning.
And I baked a banana nutty cake because my sister-in-law requested it.
And when we got there, my in-laws were very happy because they would only see us once, especially their granddaughter. Other than the delicious dinner we shared, we talked about how's life and my mother-in-law asked me if we didn't have a hard time on the trip because it was said that our trip was long from Moalboal to Lapu-Lapu.
While we talked our hands worked. We make hanging rice. This is one of their livelihoods from their children were small until their grandchildren have grown. They order a lot of hanging rice now because it's summer here because it's easy to carry especially for picnics, family gatherings, or enjoying the beach. Because there is no need for a large container for rice, just carry it when it runs out, there is nothing to carry because the coconut leaves that have been made into hanging rice will just be thrown in the garbage.
So they are really busy now so I helped make it and we made more than 500 pieces and they have also workers who made it.
And the next day I woke up early to help put rice on each of the hanging rice we made. And they also have helpers to do it.
And after we put the rice, I went to the area where the hanging rice is cooked. That's where we see the two large containers. Each contains more than 1500. In one day they can cook 10 containers because it's summer.
After it is cooked, they put it here to dry, cool it down a bit and deliver it immediately to customers or pick it up.
And this is the cooked hanging rice and ready for delivery.
That's all about my visits to my in-laws. I hope you enjoy and like what I showed you. Thank you for the time you read my post and I much appreciate it.
Until my next post. See you.
Bye 🤗

We call this puso in our dialect as it is like a heart shape. We usually make this when having a family getaway or beaching on weekend. I love eating this back in the day even without any viand 😊
yes, we also eat it even without viand because it is fragrant and tasty.
Thank you for stopping by @jane1289.😊
This is one of my favorites. I love pairing it with a cup of coffee. :)
Maybe what you are referring to, ma'am, is the puto. Made from sticky rice, it's delicious paired with coffee. And this hanging rice is just natural rice, it's delicious paired with barbecue or pork lechon.
Thank you @charmingcherry for dropping by. ☺️
