Velma Dinkley from Scooby-Doo in My Art Style - Digital Paint
I recently published a post where I presented my version and design (updated) of Shaggy Rogers, inspired by some illustrations I made in early 2020 of the Scooby Doo gang. Illustrations made with the intention of creating a comic book where I would tell original adventures and stories of horror and suspense, based on the universe created by Hanna-Barbera.
With this in mind, I decided to make design updates for each of the members of the gang, concentrating in this case on Miss Velma Dinkley.
And that is why, with much excitement, I present to you today's publication, a “Step by Step” of my current version of Velma Dinkley, from the Scooby Doo gang.
Step by Step:
First I concentrated on making a rustic sketch of our Velma, and then I polished details such as her hair, expression and attire.
Then, I made the line art, leaving everything ready for coloring. I wanted to respect the color palette I used in the illustration of Shaggy since I was very interested in giving the feeling that they were in the same place. The predominant colors in the palette were blue and green, so I used them as a base to configure the different colors and shades I needed in Velma.
At this point, and having advanced enough with the illustration, I decided to focus on the light of the flashlight and the bounce of it on the glass of the glasses of our protagonist. Then, I proceeded to place the same background that I had used in the illustration of Shaggy, and I added my signature at the top of the drawing, finishing the illustration.
¡Recuerden mantenerse sanos y tomar mucha agua!
And this way, I end my publication of today. The truth is that I had an incredible time, since I had been wanting to retake the dynamics of the Scooby Doo protagonists for a long time. I have a special affection for the characters and the concepts of my comic, so it was a delight to do this work. I loved the end result and I sincerely hope you did too. I can't wait to hear from you in the comments, remember to stay healthy and drink lots of water!
