Shaggy Rogers from Scooby-Doo in My Art Style - Digital Paint
I recently came across some illustrations I did in early 2020 of the Scooby Doo gang, and I had a very nostalgic feeling. I remember drawing them with the intention of creating a comic book where I would tell original adventures and stories, based on the universe created by Hanna Barbera.
They were stories of suspense, where there would be real ghosts and demons that would haunt our protagonists, giving a twist to what we are normally used to seeing. The truth is that the designs I made back then, to this day, I like them a lot, so I decided to take them up again and make new illustrations.
And that's what today's post is about, the "Step by Step" of my current version of Shaggy Rogers, from the Scooby Doo gang. So, without further ado, I'll share it with you.
Step by Step:
First I did a quick doodle of our main character, Shaggy Rogers, and then I polished the drawing a bit more. I focused on marking his expression, hair and clothes.
After making the rustic sketch, I focused on making the line art. I was very clear about the colors I wanted to use, and the atmosphere in which Shaggy would be. I wanted to use a color palette starring the color green, and I wanted the boy to be in a night environment, so I worked towards it and tried to respect it as much as possible.
At this point, I decided to finish coloring his eyes and add a background that matched the proposed concept, taking as a reference the concept art of one of my favorite Scooby Doo versions. Then, I added my signature on the lower left side, and I officially finished my illustration.
And thus, I end my publication for today. I really had a great time drawing Shaggy. I'm very fond of the character and his story, as well as the concept I have for my comic, so it was an incredibly nourishing and stimulating experience. I hope to share more drawings of this style soon.
I loved the end result and I sincerely hope you did too. I can't wait to hear from you in the comments, remember to stay healthy and drink lots of water!
