В Київ я повернувся вже шостого березня 2022 року. Відвіз сім’ю на захід, а сам приїхав, щоб бути чимось корисним тут, оскільки не міг просто сидіти у відносно спокійному Закарпатті.

I returned to Kyiv already on March 6, 2022. He took his family to the West, and he himself came to be useful here, since he could not just sit in the relatively calm Transcarpathia.

Під Києвом тоді точилися бої і ніхто ще не знав чим все закінчиться. Але вже тоді, в березні 2022 року було зрозуміло, що столицю ворогу взяти буде не просто. Люди об’єдналися як ніколи, кожен, хто як міг допомагав чи то війську, чи то цивільним.

At that time, battles were raging near Kyiv and no one knew yet how everything would end. But even then, in March 2022, it was clear that taking the enemy's capital would not be easy. People united like never before, everyone who helped either the army or the civilians in any way they could.

Місто було не впізнати, воно наїжачилось барикадами та блок-постами, машин було дуже мало, правила дорожнього руху залишились в минулому. Перевірка документів відбувалась чи не кожних п’ятсот метрів – стільки було блок-постів.

The city was unrecognizable, it was crowded with barricades and checkpoints, there were very few cars, traffic rules remained a thing of the past. Documents were checked almost every five hundred meters - there were so many checkpoints.

Вже зараз Київ майже повернувся до звичного довоєнного життя мегаполісу, якщо не брати до уваги повітряні тривоги та велику кількість військових на вулицях міста. Знову корки, знову поліція з радарами та штрафами, знову життєва метушня. Але ми маємо розуміти – війна йде, нічого не скінчилось і боротьба триває. Маємо згуртуватись, скластися в єдиний кулак, кожний на своєму місці, але все має бути підпорядковане лише одній меті – Перемозі.

Even now, Kyiv has almost returned to the usual pre-war life of the metropolis, if we do not take into account the air alarms and the large number of military personnel on the streets of the city. Again traffic jams, again the police with radars and fines, again the hustle and bustle of life. But we must understand that the war is going on, nothing is over and the struggle continues. We must rally, form a single fist, each in his place, but everything must be subordinated to only one goal - Victory.
