The T- Brothers and Their Little Adventure || Week 12 Edition 01
"c'mon!, we have to catch the train!", Flint screamed as they dashed through the grassy path way. He was way ahead of Kobe who was finding it hard to drag his big belle with him.
The two boys had been friends since child birth, yeah you can say that. Kobe was born first and some few hours later Flint came along with his tiny body and contagious smile. It was surprising that the two lads who were placed side by side in the hospital ward were caught laughing and playing.
They later discovered that they both stayed in the same neighborhood, Kobe stay some few blocks uphill and Flint's house was just right along the downslope. Everyday Kobe would run miles downhill to go meet his friend and they'll both end up at the deserted train station, it was still a wonder how Kobe still managed to retain all that fatness, his head was filled with enough meat to feed a whole pack of wolves.
Both of them were smart, but Flint had more of the looks and Kobe compensated with more brains. It had been easier for them since each one complimented the other in every way to the extent that everyone now knew them as the T- brothers meaning Train brothers because they always talked about their dream to travel the world by train and eventually find their way to live in the big city.
"I'm going as fast as I can Flint, besides were two minutes early", Kobe panted as he tried to catch up. They were now few miles from their train station which received a lot of travellers from time to time. It was their job to ensure that everyone got their tickets and got onboard their desired destination train. So much for being in charge of a train station.
"Here we are", they both said as they heaved a sigh of relief for making it on time.
"Get the trains ready flint, I'll start distributing the tickets", Kobe called out to Flint who was already drifting towards the first broken train in the station. They had both been playing this game for a long time and each one enjoyed it as much as the other. They'll have other kids come over and Kobe would be in charge of making sure each one got a paper ticket and he'll direct them onboard and Flint would play the train's driver and they'll all be on their way.
"Our dreams are finally coming to pass, Flint", Kobe sounded excited and was beaming from ear to ear.
"Don't tell me another of your Dad's cow is finally sick, I'm tired of eating so much meat", Flint replied with his usual disinterest.
"No, you dummy!, My Dad just told me of a new train station being built just across the border town miles from here, they say the railway lines are still in good order, they'll just need new trains and a place to keep em".
You should have seen the way Flint's face lit up with so much joy. They were finally getting what they wanted, soon their lives in this local town would end and they'll be able to see the city and then go on their very first real train ride.
The two boys were excited, they agreed to start doing odd jobs that wouldn't require a lot and paid little, just enough for them to save up for their new adventure.
Each day, they'll both meet at the old train station, take 80% of the pay for that day and put it in a discreetly safe place inside one of the trains.
This went on for months untill, the new train station was completed. They also discovered that their savings was enough to get them two train tickets to the nearest city and they'll still be enough left to get them meals during the journey.
"We meet here at 8 tomorrow, you need to be as discreet as possible, no one needs to know", Flint whispered and Kobe nodded.
Kobe was even more excited, he packed his little belongings and sneaked out of his room through the window. Then he quietly ran through the grassy path that led to the old train station. He didn't want to be late, so he left home at exactly 7:30 and he was sure Flint would be there waiting as usual.
It was dark and when he got there he couldn't see anyone.
"It's still early, I'm sure Flint is on his way", he thought to himself.
Minutes passed and there was still no sign of Flint. He started to become worried, then minutes became hours. Tired and frustrated, he decided to check out the trains maybe Flint was probably waiting for him there, maybe he slept off.
He searched through the trains and when he was in the train they had both saved up their earnings. Instincts made him check if it was still there. He discovered that the hole was empty!, their whole money was gone!
He didn't even know when tears started to run down from his cheeks, he was heartbroken and at the same time angry. So much for the friendship he'd had so much faith in all his life.
This is my entry for this week's first edition of the story theme "Betrayal".

Once I got to the money part, I had a feeling the money will be gone.... Only, I thought someone else would take it.... I didn't think it would be Flint.
Didn't you say Kobe was the one with brains? So much for the more brains you gave him in this story 😏
Lol your feelings were right, something was surely going to go wrong, well it didn't have to be Flint but then it was.
If you read closely, I said both of them were smart 😂😂😂, one more than the other...that's the harsh reality..
Tarh... I saw that part too. But you exclusively said, Kobe had more 😏
I'm sure Flint didn't steal the money... But where did he go???
This post has been curated by the VYB curation project - keep up the great work 🙌
I feel the same way too. Their bond was too strong to betray... something bad must have happened to him Don't you think??
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate ❤️
I'm sure he didn't go missing on purpose. Will there be a next part?
It was well earned 🙌

Wow... That must have hurt so much. But then, money does make even the best of us do things that we ordinarily would not.
