Book review: Battlefield of the mind by Joyce meyer

Worry, doubt, confusion, depression, anger, and feelings of condemnation are all attacks on the mind. Our minds control our thoughts and actions, so gaining control over our minds is important inorder to find freedom and influence our life positively through our thoughts. That's what triggered me to reading this book.

**Battlefield of the mind--Joyce Meyer
I would love to first of all share more light about the author before going further to the book. Joyce is a new York times best selling author, she have written many books on different areas and her books have help millions of people find hope. Battlefield of the mind was published 1995 and it's still one of the best recommended books for building ones mental health.

**Summary of the book
The book is subdivided into three parts. The first part talks about the importance of the mind, here Joyce gave an introduction on the mind as the battlefield and the need to conciously align our thought positively in the right direction by thinking positively. The second part talks about the conditions of the mind. Here Joyce emphasized on the state of the human mind and how best to know when your mind is normal. Worry most times affects the state of our mind to a large extent thereby causing depression. Developing an active mind helps is to engage our minds on the right things and not passively. The third part which is the last part Joyce emphasized more on not dwelling in the past but learning to pass by things of the past and focusing on the future. Our future does not depends on our past neither is it characterized by our past. Dwelling in the past create negative thought that affects our minds and actions which keeps us backward and affects our progress most times.
Finally, building the mind takes patience and consistently engaging the mind positively.

**My review & rating
Just as I mentioned above Joyce is a new York best selling author, her books have helped millions of people find hope and stability in different area. I enjoy reading her book because it captures real life experiences. Most of her books covers stories of trials, tragedies and victories she have encountered through her personal life experiences in marriage, family, etc and it's also practical. In battlefield of the mind Joyce emphasized more on the need to recognize damaging thoughts and stop them from influencing our life. I love the insight, knowledge, wisdom and truth captured in this book.

In conclusion, battlefield of the mind by Joyce is a book I recommend to anyone interested in building their mental health. I'm giving it a rating of 4/5. This book worth the time spent to read.
Thanks for reading.
