My worst medical practitioner of the year.
In the first prompt, you wrote about your favourite Medical practitioner during your time in the hospital. For this prompt, we want you to tell us, when you visited the hospital, was there any medical practitioner that you disliked or your spirit did not go in-line with? why is that? did the nurse/doctor/orderly do something in perticular? what are your suggestions to betterment healthcare in your country.
In the last prompt, i talked about Nurse Cynthia who saw me though when i was hospitalized. I also talked about me not going hospital often. Nevertheless, i still had an ugly experience when i visited hospital few years ago. This time, it was typhoid and malaria. The sickness started with pains on all my joints, as time passes by, i started felling cold and fever. Went to pharmacy to buy drugs but the symptoms persisted. That's when i decided to visit the hospital. On getting there, i was diagnosed with the results of having typhoid and malaria. The treatment commence immediately. Being a government hospital, you should expect to see different nurses everyday because some might be in the afternoon, evening or night duty. Same with private hospitals.
My injection and drip was to last for 5 days and the Nurse that attended to me the first day was very nice. Unfortunately, throughout the 5 days, i couldn't see her again. When i asked, i was told she's on night duty. There's this particular Nurse i dislike. Infact, i didn't allow her to inject me even if it's her turn of duty. I will rather ask the person on duty with her to inject me instead of her. The name of this nurse is Ifebu. This woman with my observations should be in her late 40's but she doesn't have respect to the patients. She talks anyhow. I don't know why Government properties is always like that. In this hospital, there's a section for pregnant women because it was just a government healthcare center. She was talking and abusing some ladies that she feels that they're poor. I hate it when one looks down on others because of financial status which i kept on noticing in her. She can only give you special attention when she feels that you are financially okay. Because of that, i disliked her.
One day, she injected a woman. She complained of the injection being painful. Instead of her to say sorry and give solutions to it. She insulted the woman. Telling her it was because she wasn't steady. But if it was love making she will steady. Those words got me irritated and i dislike her the more. When it comes for suggestions for the betterment of healthcare in my country. I think the government should have good orientation before employing staff's. Not those that lack home training. Secondly, their should be a provision of visiting the hospitals frequently without informing the staffs. With that, they will be able to know what's going on there. I also suggest that they should make treatments affordable for the citizens and let the doctors and nurses to know that life should come first before money. Because many has lost their life's because there's no deposit money and because of that, no attention was given to the patient. If something should be done about this, it will better the healthcare of the country.
Am inviting @maraja, @angelaeffiong @calebmarvel to join this prompt
