RELAX!!

Hello everyone!
Today has been quite a workout for me as I spent it grooming myself and doing some declutter.
So, whilst re-arranging my stuff(book area precisely), I came across an old scrap book in which I had written savings plans, motivational speeches, very few articles and majorly things I had wanted to purchase. I took my time turning through the pages and then it hit me - Those things i so badly wanted then didn't seem all that important anymore. I began to tick off the things I already own right now which I wanted then, only then did I realise that I have purchased almost everything (about 90%).

I noticed I did not get them at the time I was crazy about them but at a time I needed them and they were absolutely necessary. I compared the lists to my present list(weird as it is, I always make/have lists) and evidently, there are great differences and a few similarities cause tastes change, as did mine. I remember the frenzy, anxiety, over-calculation and sleeplessness I had overworked my mind with because of the lists and how little I had achieved during that time.

This is a common experience amongst people but if we sit down to think about things and compare scenarios, we realize that those things are just wants and don't define us. Think back to 2/3 years ago. Even just a few months ago. Think about those things you were crazy over. Are you still obsessed with them as you are now? They aren't worth all of the stress as they wouldn't hold so much importance to us after a while.

I am one of those people who doesn't know what it means to worry especially when I am broke. I always remind myself that 1/2/3 years ago, I had less than I have now. That then, I needed to save for months to get a pair of slipper, but now? I can comfortably purchase so many at once - not literally, but a few- and of better quality and at a higher price. Right now, some of us put on footwears the price of someone's salary. Something we would have laughed off if anyone had told us we would do a few years ago saying, "Not me! Snap out of that dream. Even if I become extremely wealthy overnight, I wouldn't be that wasteful." Well! Well! Well! Look at you now!

Listen, before you start thinking about the many things not going according to plan, remind yourself of how much better you are now than you were yesterday. The changes and growth may not be as fast as you have painted it in your mind, but if you're truthful to yourself, you'll agree with me that you progress daily.

Be thankful.
Wear your attitude of gratitude like you wear your smile.
It will hold you up and keep you up.
Quit worrying. Just relax!
Change always comes!

This is so right, we worry over things we can't control and it robs us of our joy. We should learn to take one day at a time. Thanks for sharing, it was helpful.

After reading this I had to sit down quietly to examine my life after which I realized that everything you said here is true.

It is normal for us to desire things but when they don't come we shouldn't kill ourselves over it. I am glad you had a list of all those things you were obsessed with years ago , see how local they look before your eyes now? There is time for everything. When there is life there is hope, this is one mystery that has kept me going. The fact that I didn't get it now doesn't mean I won't get it tomorrow or later. Why kill myself over something that will fade over time?

Sometimes we crave for things and we don't have them because it is not yet time. Patience is one formula that wise people use to conquer the world. There are times and seasons for everything. I remembered a time I needed to desperately get a cylinder but I could not I was worried over it and almost borrowed money to get it but then I don't know how i calmed down. few days later thieves broke into my apartment and took some stuffs away hehe, you see if I had bought it, it would have be taken as well. Meanwhile I have gotten the cylinder now. Let's take life one step at a time and be satisfied with the little we have as we plan for the better.

There is time for everything. Times change. Tastes change. Life is in stages. Everything good will come at the right time.

But, why does your comment seem to pass on the message better than the post itself? 🌚

Thank you for stopping by Paddy mi!❣️
