MY FINANCE THIS SEASON

When I say that I am on top of things when it concerns my finances, I mean that. Literally. This season is one period in the year when many make poor financial decisions. Some get lost in the whole rush of wanting to enjoy themselves that they spend frivolously.

I was at one of the markets around here sometime back and this man, a businessman, was telling someone whom I suppose was a customer about how he would be travelling on the first day of the new year and he was going to go spend his money. According to him, he had worked hard in the year, and it was time to enjoy it to the full, and when the new year came, he would start the hustle over again.

Sometimes, I understand why people just want to spend and spend on their enjoyment in this season. For many, this is the one time in the year that get to actually use their monies to get themselves really nice things without feeling guilty that that amount would have been able to cover some other necessity like rent, school fees, etc. I understand.

However, I always think that it is unwise to spend without a plan. I do not act , nor do I spend on impulse. Everything I do has already been planned for in my head and on paper even. I really have little responsibilities. The main thing for me and my family was making sure that we had just enough food to not just last this season but until over two months. And that one we have handled.
The reason is so that when the new year arrives, we get to not worry about food at all. We have projects at hand, too, so it's important to address the important things first.

I planned to enjoy every moment in this break from hanging out with friends to getting stuff for family, to gifting a few persons and some other little stuff. The good thing about all these is I don't have to dip into my purse cause I already had this whole thing made up and have had a separate savings for it all the while. I do that a lot. I rarely get to feel like I am spending so much because I always plan and save towards most of it.

I have so much in my hands that require finance beginning from the new year. I can not afford to spend anyhow. The merriment and all will come to a pause in about a week from today, and then we get to deal with pressing issues. It's important to not have to run helter-skelter and to start off working tirelessly to offset bills. It's important, at least, that if I must splurge this period, I have made plans for my bills. That will take the much burden off.

I see all the excitement, the frenzy, the anxiety and brokenness that people work themselves into this season in order to get new things and all, and I feel pity for them. I sometimes wonder if this isn't just another day.

Even when i go over the money i plan to work with and i need some more, i have that much control to not dip into my purse to get out some more unless i have to.
For me, i like to not get in a fix, so i plan for my every expense and manage based on my savings for the period. It works for me.

Thanks for gracing this post
Greetings!

These holidays are the times when we usually overspend. While spending a bit more than usual is okay, as we buy gifts and stuff for everyone. But we should also practice restraint. Especially when we are on a budget. These restraints can also help us maximize the amount of things we can buy for our loved ones.
