Strange mutation of the muddy men in the coffee fields
Indira ran and slid under the bed. She was trembling and her heart felt like it was coming out of her mouth. She put her hands to her ears and, with agitated breathing, repeated in a whisper: soon it will pass, soon it will pass.
While on the other side of the door she could hear loud knocks and scratches on the old wood.
No one could have imagined that in so few days the reality of humans would be totally transformed.
It was 15 days ago when Indira was delayed at the university studying with a friend, when they were returning home they saw a huge truck stop by the river. The truck was carrying some containers with a bright green liquid.
Both Indira and her friend paid no attention to the scene. So did the city authorities and politicians.
What no one expected was that the glowing liquid was waste from a chemical plant and turned into a reagent with the water mixture that ran underground and affected the coffee crops that would be harvested the next day.
When the agricultural employees arrived in the field, they began to feel itchy hands. They removed their gloves thinking it was a latex allergy and it was worse.
The red pimples were slimy and stuck to the skin. Soon the humans in the fields merged with the coffee plants and out of the mud emerged strange creatures thirsty to infect other humans.
This strange mutation of the muddy men of the coffee fields quickly spread throughout the city. Everything was destroyed, full of mud and no one was left, except Indira.
She is a normal, quiet young woman, a lover of classical music and coffee, encouraged by her grandfather, an important coffee grower in the region.
Her passion for coffee pushed her to study biology and chemistry at the university. She wanted to invent a coffee formula that would preserve the traditional and familiar all day long in the consumers by just taking a sip in the morning.
Indira will never forget the morning coffee on January 23 that she drank in the kitchen with her mother, they went out into the street and encountered chaos. The girl managed to dodge the mutant creatures but her mother was not as lucky.
All these events came to Indira's mind as she was hiding under her bed and the mutants were pounding hard to get in. She thought of her family and the future of humanity. She got up. She dried her tears and turned her desk into a laboratory.
She analyzed the situation and realized that she had in her blood the antidote. She would mix human blood with coffee from her grandfather's 2020 harvest, which they still had a few sacks in reserve.
He lit the lighter, took his mother's favorite cup. She drew some of her blood and in a few hours she had the antidote to that terrible mutation that arose due to human irresponsibility.
Indira realized that her talent as a scientist would help humanity get back on track. She took in her hands a cup of hot coffee that reminded her of her grandfather and sighed as she looked out of her apartment window at the chaos in which the city found itself.
Now she had a new opportunity for humanity. She had the coffee antidote to start a new era.

Coffee growers always get the short end of the stick, huh! Hopefully Indira will save them and the human race from this coffee mutation.
Disgusting! Haha
Perhaps, I would't mind being a coffee mutant if weren't for those red pimples 😂
Nice read, my friend. And I loved the drawings ☕️
Hahahahaha ... Hopefully and we never have to see those sticky red pimples.

Good story, reminds me of the times I went to a mountain range called Perijá, where the farmers complained that coal extraction was affecting their lives and their land.
