Mountain Hiking Training – The Goats - The Stone Route

Greetings friends of Hive, today I'm going to share a mountain hiking training that I did on Wednesday in the Los Chivos hill to Las Piedra, in my community of Villa de Cura, Aragua state, Venezuela.

I usually do my workouts on Tuesdays, but because I didn't have time because of my son's soccer practice, so I resumed this training on Wednesday, starting this walk at 4:10 pm in the afternoon, with a strong heat, which has increased in this month of April, so I went at a moderate pace along with my pet Negrito, to avoid getting exhausted by the heat. When the temperature is high it is advisable to carry water to hydrate ourselves during the training.

In this training, I was going to climb a water pot for watering the plants, but when I got to the entrance of the mountain I did not find any pot full of water, so I continued my walk until I reached the first mountain where the cross is with a time of 10 minutes. On the way I met a hiker who was going to get to Las Torres, I told her that I would get to Las Piedras, that is about 1 km ahead.

It should be noted that despite the heat, the time I made was good, I continued my walk, and when I reached the second mountain I had a time of 12 minutes, this is the part where you can see the third mountain where the bars are, I increased a little, and the clock marked a time of 17 minutes, 2 minutes more than my best time, I waited a few seconds for my pet to reach me, this helped me to recover, as in this third climb is very demanding.

When I started to descend there was a runner who had reached Las Torres, I continued with the walking pace, and the heat felt strong, Negrito came behind me, now every time he comes he stays constantly, I imagine that the temperature also affects him, when I arrived to Las Mercedes, I had a time of 23 minutes.

Now then starts again the climbs a little longer to reach almost the fourth hill with a time of 32 minutes, a time a little high, compared to my best record of 28 minutes, I arrived at La Torres with almost 34 minutes. I had thought to get there, but I decided to continue, then comes another slope that slows you down a bit, and I continued until I reached La Piedra with 39 minutes, in the Actifit application I register 3925 steps.

Once I reached my destination, I took water to keep hydrated, I also gave my pet, who was very thirsty, looking for some shade to protect himself from the heat. I rested for three minutes to wait for my dog to recover a little, and then return to the house.

On the way back I met several walkers and runners that I was training, today if they were encouraged to walk in the mountains, because there are days that I do not find almost people on the route, when I got home the Strava application marked a time of 1 hour and 36 minutes and 5 km with 940 meters, almost 6 km distance.

An excellent time for such a demanding course. I imagine you're in pretty good condition to think about climbing a water pot, that's a big weight. Great post dear @cetb2008 . Thanks for sharing.
