Art Journal: Snow Mountain Peak | Acrylic Painting

(Edited)

Greetings to everyone! I'd like to welcome you to another fun painting I created today. I decided to paint a snow mountain, This piece was inspired by one of my mentors, Bob ross. He used to paint a wet-on-wet oil painting method of painting. Though I use acrylic paint, the techniques, and procedures I learned from him on how to paint with minimal effort but give the best result.
It inspired me to keep going and continue learning from him. He inspired a lot of artists, he's legacy in the world of art will never be forgotten.

Materials Needed:
👉 Acrylic paper pad
👉 Pencil and eraser
👉 Ruler
👉 Clean Water
👉 Rag
👉 Paper napkin

Brushes:
👉 Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
👉 Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
👉 Round Brush #8 / 5/32" / 4.0mm
👉 Filbert brush

Acrylic Paint:
👉 Titanium white
👉 Ultramarine blue
👉 Mars black
👉 Burnt sienna
👉 Grass green
👉 Green mid
👉 Lemon yellow
👉 Yellow ochre

With a small flat brush I begin with white and blue and paint the sky with a little cross stroke and blend it well.

I Just mix the burnt sienna, blue and a touch of black for the mountains. The highlights of the mountains, where the lights come from are white, just barely touching, and no pressure in applying the paint. The shadows of the mountain are blue and white.
A palette knife is good for making mountains as well as highlights. Since I don't have it, I just used a flat brush.

For this part I start painting the distant trees. If you have a fan brush that would be good for creating those distant trees.

Distant object in the landscape does not require much detail. I used grass green, a small amount of black, and a touch of yellow ochre.

Foreground trees, I still used grass green and black and small for the first layer of the tree leaves. The highlight colors are lemon yellow, green mid, and white. I used a filbert brush in creating those leaves.

For the water are grass green, green mid, yellow. I put some reflections on the waters. Lastly, add extra detail by using a liner brush.

This is the final and finished painting

That's all for today I hope you enjoyed this painting, and thank you for stopping by!
Happy Painting!😀

God bless!

Great Job! I could tell right away it was inspired by Bob! He's awesome to learn from. I too am using acrylics, so have to adjust my painting with him.

Hope to see more from you! Thanks for sharing
